    Thank you! Do you know how much each bride pays for his travel costs on average?? I couldn't find any specifics on his website but will keep looking. I have tried reaching out to him but haven't heard back yet. I hope he is not booked already. His work looks amazing!!!

    Hi! Thank you so much for sharing!! Have you seen the work of Florian or Photophil? I agree with the flowers, I am considering putting centerpieces and my bridesmaids flowers together before we go and having each person responsible for their own. I think I can do it MUCH cheaper this way and know exactly what I am getting. I read somewhere that one of the girls went to a market nearby. Did you happen to go on your visit? I was hoping to use some of the items from the market in my OOT bags to avoid packing as much as possible but wasn't sure what they sold their exactly! If you have any info on this as well I would love to hear about it!!

    Hi CnC,

    I will be at the Elegance on May 19, 2010! Feel free to pass on any information you get regarding the Elegance from former brides ([email protected]). I have found that most brides on here have chosen the Colonial side as well. Hopefully I made the right decision... it just felt more my style. Did you do a site visit? Have you decided on a photographer? So many things to do and think about!!!!

    Hi Everyone! We just set our date for May 19, 2010 at 5 pm for the Majestic Elegance. I am so excited!! Does anyone have their photographer picked out yet? I am debating whether we should look into flying someone in or hire someone local. Obviously flying someone in would be much pricier so hopefully we can find a great photographer in the area. I tried doing a google search but was only able to find destination wedding photographers. Any thoughts/suggestions please let me know on what you have decided to do!! Or if anyone who is getting married close to our date wants to split flying in a local photographer I am up to discussing that option as well!!! In the meantime I will search this forum for ideas!

    I just came across this resort this morning and it is absolutely amazing!! I have been struggling trying to find a nice resort that is not too expensive for my guests and is still what I am looking for. I have been going through this thread for a couple hours now (not sure I will ever make it through the entire thing:)) and I want to say thanks for all of the great info! I emailed the resort to request a wedding date so hopefully I should be able to hear from them soon. Any suggestions/recommendations on first steps please let me know. In the meantime I will keep going through this forum. Oh - so I am confused about how to open attachments?? Do you have to be a member for a certain amount of timehuh.gif Or have a number of posts?? Also, if anyone has the costs for the wedding packages in the meantime and can shoot me an email I would really appreciate it. I found it on here a couple times but they were all attachments.

     

    Hopefully I will be having my wedding here!! What a long journey searching for resorts thus far! Thanks ladies

  9. Hi, I am contemplating getting married at Majestic Elegance in May 2010. I was looking at the reception prices and almost decided to stay home and elope! We are looking to have around 60 guests+. I noticed some of you mentioned a free dinner at one of the restaurants and a reception else where? Also, for the open bar,is the price per hour or a flat fee for each guest? Any info you have on this would be EXTREMELY helpful! Thanks ladies!!

    Ana is my wedding coordinator and she has gone above and beyond what I ever would have expected from a wedding coordinator. She is such a sweet person and she just got engaged herself!!!
    We are having our ceremony on the beach, the cocktail hour at Agave (open air restaurant) and back to the beach for the reception! I highly recommend this. We attended the beach party several times across the two times we were there and it was exactly what I dreamed my reception would be, very untraditional, modern, and beachy!!! We have about 40 people traveling with us so far and we can't wait for them to experience Excellence!!

    Any questions about the resort and/or planning the wedding are welcome!
    Hi Everyone,

    I am looking to get married at the Excellence. I thought it was a family friendly resorthuh.gif Anyone know or is just the Colonial? Also, can guest stay at either and still attend our wedding at the Excellence? I think the colonial may be more budget friendly for large families traveling with us. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ladies!

I too am considering Azul but the prices seemed really high. Actually all of the prices for my guest from my TA seemed high. But unlike everyone else she didn't tell me that the prices should drop. So good to know! I just wish I knew by how much so I could make a decisionsad.gif.
  12. Hi Everyone! I just stumbled across this forum during my LONG hours of DW planning. It seems as though it has helped a lot of soon to be brides so I am really excited to be on here. Hopefully it will help in trying to make a location decision!!:) Any suggestions on a nice/trendy family friendly mexico (or Dominican) location that will not be too expensive for our guests is greatly appreciated!
