  1. Hi Everyone! I am getting married May 19th and have a couple of questions that perhaps someone can answer.

1)Does anyone know what the lighting is like for the outdoor dinner options? We are thinking about doing the Parrot Bar for our dinner set up but I didn't know if we needed to bring candles, stringing lights or chinese lanterns to set the mood or to have a lighted area?

2)Has anyone opted for the BBQ dinner buffet? Comments - Good/Bad?? Does it include drinks without doing an open bar?

3)Are all of the chairs covered in white linen or just the dinner chairs?

4)DJ recommendations? Or do you recommend using your own Ipod. I was told that it is $250 to use their equipment or $500 for a DJ. Kinda seems silly to not get the DJ for only $250 more.

    5)Fire dancers? Worth it?

Last question! 6) How long do you get the parrot bar (or outdoor area) if you rent it for dinner? Still 2 hours or longer?

    Thanks Ladies!

Oh - and someone had asked about sashes. I haven't ordered mine yet but I have been looking at Save-On-Crafts.com and they seem fairly resonable. I'm not sure the quality yet, but I will post if you are interested once I order them if I decide to get them. Thanks!

    Hi MexicoBeachBride2010,

Did you have to re-book with Liberty to get this offer? I went on the Majestic Elegance website and didn't see anything regarding the special. I did notice they are running a 12% off but wasn't sure if that was the same promotion you were referring to or not. Thanks!

If so, just a heads up for the others that they only accept cash once there so be prepared! i was DEFINETLY not expecting it to be this much, but I guess it's just the shock and awe that it's the first I've heard of this huge expense.

    Thanks for your help!

What documents? Are you talking about your marriage license or something else. Sorry, confused. We are getting married here before we go, would I need to do this too then? Thanks!
  4. Welcome! Like everyone has stated already, there is a TON on information on this forum to help ease the decision making process. In the meantime, I would consider key aspects that you would like out of your destination. Some things that we considered when making a decision:

    Location, location, location!

What does the flight look like to our destination

What kind of atmosphere are we looking for

    Price

    All inclusive or not

    Family friendly

    Good reviews (trip advisor, etc)

    Resort - Experience in weddings

Area - things to do for our guests

    Nice beach

    Good food

    How many ****'s

    Affordable for our guests

    Wedding packages available/costs

Those were probably my top deciding factors. I know it seems like a lot but most of the information is readily available on the website or can even be found on here pretty quickly. I hope that helps!!!!

    Congratulations!

It says "receive a $150 Resort Credit per room to be used at any of our luxury resorts toward a beachfront sky massage or a candlelight dinner on the beach or a suite upgrade or receive a vintage wine. Three-night minimum. Certificate must be presented at check-in. Presidential suite not included."

That is so nice of you!! Someone will be very excited to get that! I hear the Azul properties are amazing.

    Hi MexicoBeachBride,

I actually have been talking back and forth with them over the last couple of weeks. Phil is already booked for the 19th but Michael has agreed to extend his trip to do our wedding!! I am so excited, I just found out today!! I didn't really get the entire scoop on what their package entails yet. I am going to call Phil this week when he gets home from the DR. In the meantime, did he give you any details on packages/prices, etc. Are they all of the same or do we have an option? He gave me a round about but for the day of and TTD but nothing concrete yet.

Also, what are you doing about getting your photos developed? Phil mentioned that they give you the rights to all of your photos but they do not actually do the wedding album or print photos?? Is that correct? Sorry for all of the questions! I am a bit confused still. I can't wait to get all of the details ironed out, I just want to make sure everything is in place ahead of time. I think I am too anal sometimes!! ha

    Thanks!!

Our wedding falls on a wednesday and we've booked the parrot bar which is further away from the beach. There is another terrace that is close to the beach but Maritee said they don't book it for private dinners because of the party.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Heather! Unfortunately my wedding lands on a Wed. too! I was really looking forward to the beach party for my guests. Ohwell, good to know now. Thanks again for the info!

    Best,

    Crystal
  8. Does anyone know what night(s) the beach party takes place? I was trying to put together a rough timeline of events for guests and didn't know if it always landed on the same night of the week? Also, I thought I read somewhere that there is beach yoga?? Does anyone know anything about this? I can't remember if it was from one of the previous resorts I had looked at or the Elegance. Thanks so much!!!

    Dear Family and Friends,

The waiting is finally over!! Welcome to sun, sand and relaxation…Welcome to Royal Carribean Explorer of the Seas. We are both so happy and feel very blessed to be able to have you here at our wedding in Bermuda. We are especially honored that you have traveled this far to be a part of our marriage celebration.

Many years from now when we look back upon our life, love, and this day, we will remember that it was not the flowers, music, nor food that made our day so special; our memories of sharing the beginning of our lfe as husband and wife with you, our friends and family, will be what we cherish the most. Having you here for our celebration has made our wedding truly wonderful and we thank you for sharing in one of our happiest occasions.

Included is some information to help make your trip a wonderful experience. Enjoy the “goodies†included in this welcome bag. They are just a small token of our appreciation.

Please make the most of your cruise with us on the Explorer of the Seas. We hope the next few days will be as memorable for you as it will be for us.

Somehow I got bumped from the list so I added myself again. Here is the updated list! Thanks!!

  11. We are going to do OOT bags as well. So far I am using some of the usual hand sanitizer, advil, pepto tablets, band aides, lip balm, sunscreen, redbull (is being sent directly there from redbull... figured it would help on a hungover day to boost energy), some local snacks from DR (pinneaple soda and snacks), luggage tag, itinerary, fun facts on the area, beach tote, cards (my FI family is big on card games!... would be good if it rains), and large mug (nothing on it). We may also try to get something local at the market, such as a handmade photo album or whatnot.. we'll see what we can find when we get there. I am still going to add more but this is what I have so far. I hope it helps! I think some the items could come in handy even though it is not what you would expect as a gift. Hopefully everyone likes them!!

  12. Hi,

I am struggling for something to write on the OOT bags gift tag. If anyone used anything creative that they would like to share I would really appreciate it!! Sorry if there is already a thread on this, I searched several times and couldn't find anything.

    My back up option:

    Words can not express

how happy we are to say,

    thank you for coming,

    on our very special day!

    Thoughts? Thanks!!

  13. Great Job! How did you keep them together? Did you hot glue them are just tie them at the bottom. This gives me hope for mine yet! I bought real touch flowers off of Save on Crafts, Wedding Supplies, Flowers, Tulle, Lights, Decorations & Discount Craft Supplies Save-on-crafts and still waiting to recieve them. I am really nervous about putting them together. Hopefully they turn out as nice as yours!

First and foremost, congratulations on your wedding! Also, thank you for sharing Michaels website! I love this company's work. I actually spoke to Phil on the phone last night and he is EXTREMELY nice! He gave me so many tips and pointers and I have not even hired them yet. Also, they are going to try and change Michaels flight so that he can do my wedding in May! How nice is that! I am trying not to get my hopes up yet, but hopefully they will be available to book. If not, I would still recommend them based on my long conversation with Phil last night. He is extremely kind and really just wants you to enjoy your day!! Thanks again for posting!
