  1. Thanks for the review! Can't wait to see the pictures! Did you feel like you got better service from Cecilia by giving her extra gifts? For instance, was she more willing to do trades? We were planning on tipping her up front, but it sounds like you went above and beyond!

You mentioned getting pedicures at the spa, did they do a pretty good job?

One last question, I think I saw it mentioned somewhere that the Club Terrace is under construction right now until the end of June. Did you happen to get any more info on this? Are they just updating it or doing major renovations? I'm getting married July 2nd and had planned on having the ceremony there so I'm a little anxious about it getting done!

Usually i would try on a Monday or a Tuesday. I also have my site visit in July and i hope i can square everything with Juan. I want to do the TTD session with him. I am flying a photographer from here and Cecilia said it would be fine to use him for the TTD instead of my wedding pictures. I also contacted dj Mannia...but they said I had to go through Cecilia. I spoke to her about it and she said she would take care of it. Are you familiar with the difference between Dj Mannia and Dj Doremixx? I heard that Dj Doremixx is cheaper but i can't get a reply from any of them on that. Thanks i hope i helped a little!
I've heard both DJs are great. We ended up going to DJ Doremixx because we heard that he brings stuff to hand out on the dance floor like glow sticks. DJ Doremixx is cheaper but since Dreams has a contract with him, the couples get the same rate that the resort charges no matter what.

ditto what jenn said about the music ... if you are renting the sound system, they adjust the music to fit your pace, not the other way around. trust that it will be totally seamless and perfect! when you get to where you need to be, sound guy will just fade it out.
Oh, he'll fade the music out? That was probably my biggest concern, that the song would be in the middle of a chorus and there'd be an abrupt cutoff. I just assumed the sound guy didn't really do anything except press 'play' and 'next'. That makes me feel so much better!
  4. 1 month until my wedding! I feel like I have most of the big stuff squared away, but apparently my subconcious mind doesn't agree. I keep having anxiety dreams. In one I was starting to pack everything, but I couldn't find my wedding dress!

One thing that I've been discussing with Cecilia is having a rehearsal. How long did it take for any of you past brides? I'm hoping not much more than half an hour. Also, did you actually play your music to practice the timing? It seems like we wouldn't be able to hear it very well with our tiny speakers and the wind (we're renting the sound system for the day of), so I'm pretty worried about how it'll all work out.

Thank you! Sorry, as I mentioned in an earlier post, the file is too large to attach and is probably confusing for anyone but me! I think that Microsoft Word or Publisher has a booklet setting, I just didn't have the patience to figure it out myself.

I don't know about the other ladies, but the sticker paper that I used was matte. I ended up using packing tape to go around the chapsticks once more since the sticker paper was peeling back up sometimes. It made them shiny and hopefully more moisture resistant than just having sticker paper!

P.S. If it makes you feel better, Salsa is not "real" Mexican music anyway, it's Cuban/Puerto Rican/Dominican music which the spanish speaking world enjoys. Mexican music is Alejandro Fernandez, Los tigres del norte, Rancheras, Mariachi, Norteñas, and Rock en Español :)
Heh, yeah I figured someone would call me out on that. I suppose I meant "Latin" music!
  8. Maybe some of you knew this, but I just found out that they closed down Azucar Bar and turned it into Desires Bar, which is apparently a sports and music lounge. I emailed the concierge to ask about the new place. With Azucar, guests of Dreams were allowed free entry and two complimentary drinks. It had a live salsa band all night long until 7 am. Desires Bar is no longer open to the public, it's part of the all-inclusive package for Dreams. They have different kinds of music each night, but no live salsa band and they are only open 5 pm - 1 am. I'm kind of bummed, I was excited that our guests could go see some real Mexican music after the wedding and dance the night away, but that's not the case anymore. Just another random 'surprise' from Dreams again!

  9. Here are some templates!

The program fan template has two outlines, one for the white section with all of the print, and the outer one is the outline for the blue background.

The keycard inserts are extra long so that you can fold them in half. I used the saying that was found on this site, thanks to the bride who originally posted this!

The place cards and table numbers were put on one page since my file was too big with all of our guests!

    Enjoy!

  10. I've finally found some time to complete more projects, or at least print off some prototypes!

The first project is my place cards and table numbers. I bought the starfish on ebay and used raffia ribbon to tie them on to the place cards. The table number holders were brought from placecard holders - SEASHELL PLACE CARD HOLDERS - Wedding Things. I love them! We only are having 4 tables and a sweetheart table, but you have to buy the holders 6 at a time, so I made a sign for the guest book as well.

The next project was my program fan. This was just a rough copy, I've since found the Officiant's name and added a reading to the ceremony! I used a paper cutter for the straight sides, but I'll have to cut the curves by hand. Luckily we only have 35 guests, so it won't be too many.

Last, I finished my key/tip card holders. Each label is twice as long as it looks, since I folded it in half at the bottom. That way people can sandwich their money inside and others won't be able to see what's inside. I also glued the top of each side to the plastic so that when you squeeze them open, the cardstock opens, too.

I bought the lanyards and ID holders as a package deal, 35 of each for $24 from Cell Phone Straps items - Get great deals on LANYARDS CLIPS KEY CHAINS, Ear Threads items on eBay Stores!. The seller was great to work with since she gives you a variety of options and you can pick whatever colors you want. I picked blue and teal. She even sent me an extra set!

That's it for now. Let me know what you think! Next up I'll have menus and personalized matchbooks!

It seems like you'll probably be able to get a trade for something else, but I wouldn't expect it to match up dollar-wise. Everything in the package is discounted, you'd be paying a lot more if you did everything based on listed prices. You might also only be able to make other trades in the spa, since that's a different department. For instance, maybe you could trade the massage for hairstyle and makeup for your bridesmaids or something. It can't hurt to ask the WC that you're working with!

But it reminded of us where we were and how lucky we should feel at that moment!

That is so sweet! I didn't realize you could be splashed that far in, but I certainly wouldn't mind!

Thanks for the info, it's a relief to see a recent review! 6 weeks and a day until my wedding!
