As our honeymoon we are traveling around the island and I was wondering if any other brides were going to do this as well?

We're getting married at Dreams Punta Cana then after the guests leave we will start going west and stop in Santo Domingo for site seeing, then Barahona(my gma lives there) a small town where they have beautiful natural waterfalls, lagoons and beaches, then up north and eventually end up in Puerto Plata.

I thought this would be a great spot where we could share a travel details and itinerary around the island.

I'll update mine as well as we decide where else we will be stopping and certain locations and sites we want to see!

Majestic Colonial is adults only but i dont know if they have "couples only" resorts

man u girls make me feel lazy! hahah! i havent been doing ANY wedding planning this month. i made a mock of my invites then gave up!! i've hit a wedding planning plateau!im throwing my sister a baby shower so thats been taking over for now. but i have book our stay so thats exciting! i think we are going to put an extra deposit on a standard room just incase any of our guests our slacking because the early booking rate will be going up after this month.

im shopping for my dress in 2 weeks! very excited so ill post pics when im done!

yea im using their flowers. they make very pretty ones and if u have a specific preference u can send your WC a picture (or take a pic with u) and they can duplicate. im going to wait until i get my BM dresses to decide how i want them to look for now.

This might be a dumb question but..my wedding is on friday, so I'm thinkng I'll do the welcome dinner Thursday, would I just call that a rehearsal dinner? I dont really know what a reheasal dinner is?! basically a welcome dinner right?

I am so glad I found this as well! This board is soooo helpful that it also makes you feel like you have to do waaay more than you planned! I was getting tied in with everyones ideas of chair sashes and centerpeices and blablablabla!!! Then I finally took a step back and thought, I never wanted this, I dont HAVE to do this! Everyone is going to be so amazed with the beauty of the resort that they wont even notice those lil details! And neither will we! I'm bringing fans, and lil shells for the table. thats it. I'm glad other people feel the same way. We're getting away for a reason!!! hahahha!

Ok, so I was recently looking through the boards and I found someones welcome letter that she had posted and she was a Dreams Punta Cana bride! I was very excited because I could then relate to all her information she had put down. I wont repost it, because its not mine to repost but u can find it on the Invitation section and its labeled " welcome letter *PDF and pictures*, she did a great job and I'll probly be making a duplicate haha!

So I thought it'd be a good idea if we shared our welcome letters/pre-travel brochures events, whatever with each other as we finish them.

Do any of you have finished ones you could share?

What are your events you are having while your there?

Some people have welcome dinners ect, do we have to make reservations er something or can we just show up and request a large table? Would it cost more? I just want everyone to be in one spot before the actual wedding day! I'll be asking Deyanira about this as well, but any info you guys know would be great!

They have self laminating luggage tags at officemax and probly other places too. You dont need a laminator the are self adhesive!

As for the passport covers, I'm looking for these as well!!

I'm glad I found this thread because I have a question that i think would only pertain to October brides.

When are you having your AHR?

I'm having trouble picking a date because of all the friggin holidays after our wedding! We will get back Nov, 3rd. I feel like I'd prefer to have it before Thanksgiving because I'd rather have our "first outing as a married couple" be our AHR, not thanksgiving. Does that make sense?
