  1. Ok, I think I have Tiffany's FINAL, FINAL answer. White fabric is $50 a piece. Colored is $75. She says that she made a math error on my spreadsheet and that my 2 pieces of blue and 2 pieces of green are now $300 instead of $600. I'm having a hard time with the menu. It is like I want one of this, and one of that, but some things aren't on the menu. Anyway, when I spent last Thanksgiving at Sensatori, I made friends with Michael, the chef at Le Chique. I am meeting with him next month when we go down to finalized some stuff. He said he would put a menu together for us. Can't wait to see how much that costs!!!!
  2. I'm going to email Tiffany one last time on these fabric sheers. She told me $150 each.
  3. I asked Tiffany to price out the premium deluxe one on the Lomas website. She said I needed 4. I would post the picture, but I'm an idiot and can't figure out how to paste pictures into this website! Here's the link. http://weddings.lomas-travel.com/planning/details.php?category=Gazebos&idc=32[/url] Maybe because I asked for two colors
  4. Angel, I got the prices from Tiffany at Karisma. They were part of an outstanding quote she was working on for me. Allisa, when do you leave for your wedding?
  5. Kitten--Love the dress, the bottom design is fab! I consider myself a pro shopper and can't believe how hard this has been. So, I have limited myself to 5 designers Roberto Cavalli and Alice Temperly are my favorite two. I'm going to buy an off the rack, more Oscars type white dress. I'm praying this pans out otherwise, potato sack here I come Someone asked about a website, here is my link. Stephen & Ashley - wedding website by mywedding.com I am very light on pictures compared to others websites that I have seen. I found this site to be easy to create and monitor. Here's my latest from Tiffany, basically I told her I was sorry and wasn't trying to beat her up about pricing, but found it odd that Lomas would prefer to lose $13k of ceremony and reception business than to negotiate and be reasonable. She decided to contact her person at Lomas and see what could be done, so we shall see. Typically it takes Lomas about 2 weeks to respond though. They have asked for my room payments 60 days out and everything else 45 days.
  6. I am getting a bit sick of the run around as well. Here is what I got from Tiffany at Karisma today when I questioned some of the outrageous fees/quotes. "The sheets of fabric that are $100 is white sheer fabric with no color to it. Unfortunately, I cannot work with any of these prices because it comes from LOMAS and not from Karisma Hotels. " I think at this point the only thing I can do is ask to be put in touch with someone at Lomas. I just figured out that I am spending over $13,000 on a ceremony and reception at an All Inclusive resort. I am really good at math, but clearly I have lost my mind somewhere along the way!!!
  7. Kittten, that is so cool! That what happens when you live in a great city. I've got one to make you ladies laugh....I am getting married in less than 4 months and don't have a dress!!! I have shopped all over London and Chicago and just can't find the one! So, I'm off to New York this week, and then to Bal Harbour at the end of September. Nothing like waiting to the last minute! Also, I need some help. I've probably searched over 20 hours online for a cupcake cake tower, cupcakes on bottom, little cake on top, in aqua blue/lime greens. If anyone stumbles on one, please let me know! I got my first 2 RSVPs in the mail this weekend, so that was very cool, and people are starting to look at my website.
  8. Wow, that sounds like what I got from Tiffany. Is she your coordinator? They quoted me $150 for each fabric sheer, so one of ours is definitely wrong. I hope your $100 is right. I can't wait for my cake quote to come back now.
  9. I think I am going to negotiate with them on some of this. I can buy my own for $1- $2 a piece and pay the $50 set up fee....even if they charge me twice, it is still $100 less. I'm going to start looking into the fabric sheers as well.
  10. 4 Sheets of colored fabric at $150 each = $600 2 Hanging Corsages without Ivy $60 = $120 (If you would like to have ivy like the picture below the price will be upgraded to $80 per hanging corsage) 1 Colored Aisle Runner = $40 1 Bag of Rose Petals from 12 Roses = $25 Sand Ceremony = $45 27 Turquoise Chair Bows at $4 each = $108 27 Green Chair Bows at $4 each = $108
  11. Happy Saturday everyone. I thought I would share some info that I am trying to laugh about it, though it probably isn't funny. I finally got a long email from Tiffany with some responses to my outstanding quote requests. Bows for chairs---I have to purchase them for the beach ceremony for people to sit for 20 minutes, and then have to purchase another set for the reception 2 hours later. Come on, how hard is it to move 30 bows 150 feet BTW, they are only $4 each. Champagne---Grace told me I could ship my own in. I don't mind mark ups but $150 for a bottle of $40 Vuelve is ridic! Anywho...yesterday Tiffany tells me that Grace wasn't aware that the Mexican postal system is not good and that it would probably end up lost or late, but if I want to take the chance I can!!!! How funny is that! I wasn't aware that Fed-Ex changed its policies and that Mexico has turned into Colombia ala 1979. So, my question to the gang is, has anyone shipped anything to the resort? I'm thinking of sending a "test" empty box down there next month to see what happens. If anyone wants the list of other gazebo related prices, let me know and I will post it.
  12. Hi ladies, hope everyone is having a nice planning day. I actually heard from my new planner, Tiffany today. I found some centerpieces for our reception that I wanted and she finally was able to get a quote. Actually came in cheaper than I expected...sure that won't happen again Also I was talking to the Lomas people about organizing a golf outing. I didn't like the price they gave me, and they actually got confused and thought I was a travel agent and offered my their 10% commission! Long story short, they are giving me 10% off. I'm not sure if any of you are arranging transfers for your guests or giving them suggestions, but I have been using a company, Cancun Tranfers, that is awesome and almost half the price of anywhere else. On my last trip we had a brand new Yukon SUV. Private roundtirps are about $70. Let me know if you guys want details. Think that is it for now, except I found a photographer that I'm trying to negotiate with Lomas to let me bring in. Will let you know if it works.
  13. I have a co-worker whose duaghter was married in Puerto Morelos a few years ago. She said the photographer was great. She is tracking down the contact info for me. Gemma, we are doing a small wedding, too only about 30 people. We are doing it a little over the top, though.
  14. Thanks for the welcome everyone! Gemma-I think you are getting married a few hours before us, on the beach. I asked Grace about a week ago, when I saw we had the same date. Our wedding is at 5 on the beach. We are doing a cocktail reception afterward (not sure where yet) and then dinner/reception on the terrace at Zocalo. I've got about 15 outstanding quote items holding on Grace/Tiffany. I'm heading down the first week of September to work out some menu/location stuff. I haven't booked a photographer yet, I'm kind of waiting on the dust to settle. I looked at bringing one down with us, but we would be looking at $2500 worth of expenses before the first picture was even snapped!
  15. Hi ladies, I am new to the sight. I am getting married November 27th this year. I guess Grace was my coordinator, but not anymore Are any of you doing rehersal dinners offsight?
  16. Hi! My name is Ashley. I am getting married November 27th at the Azul Sensatori in Puerto Morelos.
