What part of Jamaica are you trying to have the wedding in? There are actually many hotels that do not have a % rule or a day pass fee, although they are not all-inclusives.

I contacted practically every resort from Ochi to Negril to Port Antonio. If you tell me your preferred area, I can give you a list of possible hotels. I actually ran into 2 problems when planning my wedding, the 80% rule and the fact that I am have a New Years Eve wedding. Many could not accommodate both, so I ended up booking at a hotel owned by a relative.
Well originally I thought Montego Bay because of itâ€s close proximity to the airport. But Iâ€ve been reading some review about how the beaches†are not that nice are dirty or rocky, etc and since I want a beach wedding that and issue for me… but then I havenâ€t completely ruled it out. Montego Bay to Ocho Rios or anywhere in-between would probably work for me!
  2. Okay so Iâ€ve been researching resort but Iâ€m running into a bit of a problem my FH is originally for Jamaica so some resort are requiring a certain percentage(i.e riuâ€s 80/20 rule) of pple to stay at the resort (most of my guest will be from Jamaica and are not planning on staying at the resort, My fam and friends from the states will) and some are requiring that all guest stay at the resort…. I do understand that some places offer day passes…Is there anyways to get around the whole percentage thing Iâ€m just wondering if any past brides had this issue and what resort did they pick or how did they handle the situation?

  3. So we finally picked a date! Now i'm just wondering when we should book the wedding at the resort. For local weddings i know pple have already booked their location for this date (found this info out from other forums). But since i'm having a DW do i need to book early also or not worry about it because it wont be an issue for me? Also, for photographers should i book early?

  4. From what I've read(in articles) you should be paying for her flight and room... However, you might want to work something out like if you pay for her to come then she styles your hair for free :)

  5. I have read different articles that state any where from 2-3 months for DW. On this forum i have noticed that pple send them out as early as 5 or 6 months before. Are you asking for RSVP (like a informal) from you STD's. This is what i plan to do and then only send out invites to pple that have RSVP from the STD. I feel that there is no need in wasting an invite on someone who is not planning on coming.... just my 2 cent
