The beach reception is on one end of the beach and yes it is designated. We had our ceremony 5:30 (was 5pm but got pushed). The cocktail hour/dinner reception is on the other side of the beach..not too far it started around 6. While we had our photos done our guests went over and had apps and drinks. With the package we got a trio band that played at the cocktail hour..I LOVED it!! Me and DH got the Ultimate package which was great for us. We also upgraded our dinner to platinum, ordered bottled wine for the tables and upgraded our photos to silver (we got 150 prints plus 10 8 x10's and an amazing video.) I did see a huppah one day but it was another 300$ and the arch was just as nice. With the beach as a background I didn't think we needed anything else:) All our guests loved everything. I sugjest getting table sashes online theirs aren't very nice and they make a really beautiful touch. Happy planning!! Katie

We hired Ornella from Tropical Pictures to do a photo session with DH, Adrian and myself our last day. They were so expensive but well worth it. Did you use the on site photographer as well as your friend? Are you having an AHR? Katie

Also.....treasure every second of your special day because it goes by so fast!!!! I wish I could live it over again:) The room we had was a prefered Junior suite and it was so beautiful. The maids came twice a day to tidy and give you fresh towels. Our wedding night the maid made a wedding dress out of a sheet on the bed and put pretty flowers all over the place..it was a nice touch. We also used the in room babysitting the week our family was away ans our sitter was so great..we are keeping in touch and she cried when we had to leave...our son just loved her...she even brought us a cake one night and sent one the night before we left. We are already talking about going back next year:)

Hi Ladies!! We just got back last night from 2 weeks at DPC...our wedding was on the 22nd. We did the beach ceremony as well as our reception on the beach. Everything was FANTASTIC! Our WC was Sharron and when we got there on the Sunday we saw her Monday morning everything was organized in an hour. We had fantastic weather and all our guests had a blast. The only thing I would sugjest if you have children with you is to have their main entree come out at the same time as the apetizer. The beach ceremony was done by Sharron and she did tell us in advance that the judge deals with all of Punta Cana weddings so he may not be there in time. He came at 630pm and we signed all our paperwork then. The ceremony was to start at 5pm but the wedding before us went late so it was at 530pm...which was fine because it was so hot with the high sun. The beach reception set up was BEAUTIFUL!! Everything that I dreamed of. Dinner went a little long so we didn't do lots of dancing..no big deal to us..we all went to the disco afterwards. All the bridesmaids hair was just what I wanted for them and I loved my hair and makeup also. I had a trial run with the hairstylist the night before and it put me at ease. They spay your hair tons so don't worry about the heat getting to it:) Tam I did see your siter at the disco on the Wednesday night. My MOH saw her also and they talked for a bit. I saw your pics, they turned out awesome:) I am going to post some photos on Dreams FB...anything you want to know just ask:) Katie

Hi Jocy and Tam!! Just wanted to say the I am so excited....we will all be in P.C so soon. I don't know yet if I am nervous of all the stuff still to be done or the wedding Maybe one day when we are there we can meet up and grab a drink and relax. Have you gotten your apointement with the WC yet? Tam I called Sunwing and the woman on the phone told me that the wedding gown is a "courtesy item" that makes me think that it isn't part of your carry on. Also she did tell me it ges in the over head, which I don't really like so I hope that there is a closet. Although I will be part of the mother and small child first to go on plane call so I may just grab the overhead and fill it with all my stuff so no one puts their bag on my garment bag. Will any ladies be having their dress steamed or pressed the day before?? i look forward to hopefully meeting Katie

Hi ladies, With a few of our weddings less than 6 weeks away I was really freaking out what I was reading! FI and I booked the Dreams Ultimate back when we first booked it is a pretty good option. We have had the worst experience with our TA and she got fired! No one even called to tell us..grrrrrrr We are having our reception on the beach and I am waiting to hear about being able to have music and dancing. I stopped reading trip advisor...we went to Excellence in rivera maya last new years and i read nothing lots of bad...it was amazing though...I have to stay positive or else I will have a heart attack. Are there any recent reviews from forum members?

Do you know if the 3 hour reception also includes the cocktail hour we paid for a Dreams Ultimate Wedding package and a cocktail hour is included. I went to Michaels to look for centrepiece ideas and I got really overwhelmed. Are you getting your hair done in the spa there? I have 5 girls plus myself and Sharron told me an hour that seams really unrealistic and there are 2 other weddings that day, I am kinda freaking out a bit, last thing I want is to be rushed.
