  1. Hey you guys, thanks for all the responses! I'm in grad school right now, so like the teachers commented, I'm sort of stuck with the times I can do it, and the next big enough break I have is next summer. I technically am out of school in mid-May next year though, but we were planning to move to NYC June 1st, so I was trying to give myself enough time between these two events. Perhaps though it might be better to have an early June wedding, and move after we get back from our honeymoon? Not a pleasant thing to look forward to, but we'd probably get a few degrees cooler in the temps? Anyway, thanks for all the help, and I'll let you know what we decide! YAY for summer 2010 brides. k.
  2. Hey everyone, My fiancé and I are trying to decide if the summer (specifically July) is a bad time of year to marry in Cabo, especially for an outdoor ceremony and reception? It seems that the temps are way too high to be comfortable, unless perhaps we did a sunset ceremony and reception? Also, is rain a concern that time of year? From some research I did it doesn't look like rain is too much of a problem, but perhaps those of you with experience can share your thoughts! Thanks much, K
  3. Wow, Rachel -- this is such great info! I read through all the posts, and am grateful that you took the time to share! We just got engaged on Thursday night in Martha's Vineyard. We would like to do a destination wedding next summer in either Mexico or the Caribbean. All the choices are daunting, to say the least. I'm putting us on a budget since I'm in grad school, and my fiancé just got out of grad school a couple years ago. Needless to say, school loan debt is of aplenty! So, all that being said, I might need your help if you're willing! I'd love to see photos from your wedding (maybe they're on the site somewhere and I just need to look?). Also, it's really hard to determine final cost. I've received many documents from the main office in Miami, but goodness, to sort through them and figure out a per guest number including reception, bar. etc., is quite daunting! Any advice/guidance would be hugely appreciated!! Congratulations! Jenn (Kensington)

    Hello!

I'm new to the forum, and excited to start reading! My name is Jenn, and although I'm not engaged yet, we are constantly talking about it, and are starting to talk about destination wedding sites, too! I guess we're putting the cart before the horse, but what can we say! We're interested in weddings in Mexico or the Caribbean, and hope to find a beautiful spot with GREAT food. We are definitely food and wine people, so that's a priority for us! We welcome any tips!! j.
