  1. Hi! My fiance and I are beginning to entertain the idea of a Costa Rica wedding! I have never been, so I'm pretty green when it comes to Costa Rica locations (no pun intended). I've recently begun looking at two places that have peaked my interest: Costa Verde - in Manuel Antonio Flamingo Beach Resort - in Guanacaste I've also heard about Cala Luna & Hotel Diria in Tamarindo, but the other two are my favorite so far. Does anyone have any feedback regarding any of these resorts? My wedding will likely be around 50-60 people...I really just want a fun, relaxed beach weekend that I can spend with my closest friends/family! I dont want to have to stress about coordination or travel or any of that...
  2. Thanks purrrfect! This information is really helpful for all of us (love the cell phone idea too). Do you know if Kenny can handle large groups? Like say if I had 20 people land on the same flight...or is he just one guy with a van?
  3. Don't forget the Loudon Wainwright 'That's my daughter in the water' song...the one from Knocked Up. I just love that song
  4. Seaside Florida is beautiful - it is definitely on the more expensive side, but absolutely gorgeous. Rosemary Beach is very similar, but probably not quite as pricey.
  5. hi biviana, I, too, am thinking about Tensing Pen. I have done some initial research on various websites & have generally heard that they are pretty difficult to get in touch with. One person told me they had to have their travel agent in Jamaica contact the hotel to get their calls returned. I still haven't decided if that is the locale for me, but know that if you do go with TP the communication apparently doesn't get any better until about a month before the wedding. However, I have heard that once you get there it is SUPERB service & an amazing site. Definitely something to be aware of as you decide! If you can handle the lack of initial communication then you'll be fine...I have yet to decide if I can handle that! (I'm ridiculously Type A). Please keep me posted on anything you find out about them though! I'm trying to feel out flower, decor, photography & entertainment prices myself...

  7. Another newbie here...just in the initial research stage of trying to pick a destination! I'm open to any and all beach destinations from (all) Florida coasts to Mexico, Bahamas & Jamaica. Right now Tensing Pen is my favorite...would like to have around 40-50 close family/friends at the same resort. I want a nice, classy wedding, but don't want the costs to be outrageous! Hopefully that is doable with a little DIY help... I have no idea what a typical estimate is for flowers, decor, cake or music...so anybody that has some typical numbers that they don't mind passing along - by all means please help me out! Oh, wedding date is TBD, but likely April/early May 2010.
