You should not have a problem. Also to everyone here...I e-mailed Rocio a question yesterday afternoon and received a response within a few hours! Must have caught her at a good time. Christina, Thanks so much for the info!! We have had our hearts set on the beach gazebo...that being said I guess we could always choose something different if inspired that way once we are there!! 29 sleeps & 28 workouts before we fly!! Very exciting... only a few little odds n ends to do. Cut & glue pins to boutineers, photocopy birth certificates...pack...oh and I need to find white flip flops & a tube top! Rocio has been great with resonding to emails & updating our file! Great experience! Our only issue has been our beach pants didn't come in for the groom & groomsmen. They are a playa pant from undergear.com. Do you or anyone know if you can buy nice beach pants for guys down there?? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!! Cheers
  6. Any February 2010 brides? We are so excited!! We will be there from Feb 13~27th!! Can any 2009 brides tell me if you usually get the wedding spot that you want? Or is there usually weddings going on at the same time? Thanks
  7. Great advice! Now just to put it into action! My Fiance & groomsmen...well they are a bunch of jokers, tools sometimes...they are proposing the speedo...and the worst thing is that an image borat keeps popping up in my head!! Eww! Hope just jokes...otherwise there will be a bridezilla on their hands!! I have found the shirts at Costco of all places $39.99 cnd, and the beach pants online at Undergear - Mens underwear, swimwear, workout wear and fashion for 39.99 usd (free shipping & 25% off too).

Oh my gosh!! You ladies are all toooooo funny! I haven't been on here for a while...just planning away..well ya and that thing called work gets in the way of fun planning! We have 48 adults, 4 kids booked already! Crazy! Thought it would be small but everyone is choosing to fly, fly away out of the cold! The tight group of friends from when I grew up as a child to great new ones & close family are all looking forward to this trip of a lifetime!! Mexico here we come! 58 days until we take flight! Grand Palladium I hope you are ready for us! This form has been awesome to show me new ideas for our wedding to make it different from Canadian weddings. I tried to upload picture of my dress & wedding site but it doesn't like me! Any suggestions for uploading or linking pictures into here? Carly
  10. Hi Ladies My wedding is Feb 18, 2010! So excited!! Almost ready to go! Glad there is still 70 days to go...but the way time flys! Wooosh! We are getting married at the Grand Palladium Beach Gazebo. We have 52 booked already...and more are deposited or waiting for prices to drop even more!! ~Carly Oh...is it really really recommended to get the twinrix...or Hep A & B Vac?
  11. This forum has just been amazing in assisting with planning our wedding!! Wanted to thank all the brides who have answered & re-answered questions for us newbies! Are there any February 2010 brides out there? We have 52 people booked already! And they are ready for time to fly by & reach the new year already! Because of the Olympics being held in Vancouver, BC...we were able to swing great deals for 7 night packages! My Mom is almost finished the bridesmaid dresses, mother(s) & honeymoon dress. Just searching for nice sandal/shoes for everyone & I still have to make the bouts & corsages (silk). A few little things to do too...buy tea light lanterns for reception & material for chairs & table sache. Costco of all places had the groomsmen's shirts & we ordered really sexy beach pants from underwear.com for only $49.99/pair. My dress fits me better than the day I bought it... the pilates & butt/hips & thighs workout (Shape mag) must be doing the trick!! Wedding + beach vacation + busy, busy working & coaching= not having my bum sag into the back of my legs!!! YAY!!! For amazing dresses...beach dresses I recommend Demetrious (Italy..but reasonable $). We are surprised at our # of guests...not just because we thought it would be a smaller group...but for us having to pay for the private reception...it is frightful when you add up the ceremony & reception price...ekkk! You would really think that because you have such a large number of people & are bringing so many guests (great tippers too) to the resort that there would be a deal or break in the price! The day only happening once & still cheaper than doing it in Canada (low budget one too) is re-assurance that it's just money & it will be worth every penny! (dollar/thou..lol) Kamloops, B.C. Wedding @ Beach Gazebo Feb. 18th, 2010
  12. The prices both of you {sveta & christina} are lower than what I last received from TA from Vancouver BC and Kamloops BC. Christina, that is an excellent price...are the prices usually a lot different Feb to April?? I have done a lot of research on prices, and when the best time to book is... I have concluded that July is when to start seeing better pricing...and of course the closer to the month you can imagine better deals too I had looked last year (we've been engaged for 2 years in Dec) so I was already looking at prices and resorts spring 2008 for 2009 packages for Palladium, and we have concluded that 14 day packages should look to be around $2400 or less and 7days for $1800 or less. Another advice is to see what the extent of the damage for Mexico travel due to the flu. Media scares a lot of people off of travel there. They have had huge decline, packages in October for 14 days (5months away) are $1989.00 right now! So, I know we can get eager...but waiting in a little discomfort will be benificial. I should contact my TA again and see what she has come up with now...last time I got prices was "predicted prices". We booked Feb 18, 2010 Has anyone tossed the idea of getting legally married in Canada first and then saving money doing the renewal of vows, symbolic ceremony (it is exactly the same, minus legal docs and blood work) ?
  13. Hi Has anyone had any luck with package pricing for 2010. Are there any of you thinking of going through escapes.ca? I am told that they are travel agents there but don't work by commission - just straight with representing the company. They have told me to wait until July to book for better deals and they also discount for group deals, and will beat expedia.ca prices. If you have any prices from travel agents could you share?
  14. I am curious as well! I originally wanted to have live music at our ceremony too. I have some musicians in our group but didn't really want the stress of bringing my guitar down, though would be nice to sit & play on the beach with a cocktail in my hand So... that being said, does anyone know how the sound systems.. well sounds? Good? Professional? Anyone experienced it taking away from the 'organic' feeling of the wedding on the beach?
  15. Jen, Thanks so much! You predicted all that I needed to know about beach to assure my hunny that it is good to go! We had chosen the Iberostars before but prices came back too high for us, as well the beach in Playa has sand bags which we knew we didn't want. Did you use the spa there? For your hair & such? I am glad to hear that we can choose some of the details there- makes it more exciting & spontaneous!... which is more our style! Oh, did you have music for the ceremony? Any insight on that? I am so excited! Wish that it was sooner! Just cause this winter business doesn't seem to want to shake us! How was the snow for you the other day? eh? Cheers Carly
  16. Jennifer, Thank you so much for getting back to me! That is just great to hear that you had such a wonderful experience! I do have some more questions, was the $1850 + tax for 1 week or 2 ?? And how far in advance did you book your package with your travel agent ? I just got some prices back now for Feb 2010, and they are really high compared to what we think it should be. She quoted 2225 + tax for 1 week, and 2980 + taxes for two weeks. What travel agency did you use? My fiance was really wondering about the beach as well, he is worried that it isn't great to swim in...can you give us a description of the beach & what kind of activities you & your guests took part in? Did you do any adventures or tours with your group? Thanks so much for the info, it is great to hear that the wedding planners are accomidating and the resort is flexible with the areas you can visit Carly
  17. Hi there, We are getting married Feb 2010 at the Grand Palladium Resort, Puerto Adventuras. We are just waiting on pricing for whether to stay at the Katenah or White Sands section. We are excited for the beach & ocean to play at as well as the only time to have all our family & friends on a wicked vacation all together!! The Grand Palladium seems to be the best for our group, adults & a few kids. There will be around 30 of us for sure, most going for 2 weeks. Does anyone know about booking your own sail boat or catameran for the wedding guests/party? Carly
  18. Jennifer, Thanks so much for posting your pictures & info! Was your day everything you wished it would be?? Did you & all your guests stay at the Kantenah? And did you have the options of any of the wedding sites for your ceremony? Does anyone mind me asking how much you & your guests ended up paying for your vacation packages (especially if you are from BC) ? Did you go through a travel agent or book independantly online or in small groups? Any information or do's & don'ts would be very welcome!! Carly
  19. Hi there, My name is Carly and I am planning our wedding for Feb. 2010 at the Grand Palladium Resort (s) in Mexico. We are looking to stay at the Kantenah or White Sands depending on pricing. If anyone has any tips or pictures that about the resorts that would great if you could pass them along We would love to have our ceremony at the beach gazebo on the White Sands beach. Does anyone know if it matters that we stay at the Kantenah but have our wedding site at the White Sands? Is there anyone else from B.C. that has received pricing for 2010 packages? And are you able to share that info? Thanks so much I have read lots of the forums on here & I am really excited to be in touch with other brides that are going to or have been to Mexico, especially the Playa del Carmen surrounding area
