KathleenandDan: I LOVE those dresses; they of course didn't have them out until 5 months before my wedding, and I already had someone making mine! I think I want to buy one to wear to a shower of mine or something!

I'm using a lighter, peachy shade of orange for my wedding. My bridesmaids' dresses are a little more of a coral color, and the guys' shirts are orangey. It looks really pretty together. That's sort of become the whole color scheme; the guys are wearing khaki too, so it can all be incorporated!

I sent out my STDs out about 10 months before the wedding, and will be sending out my invites 2 or 3 months prior. Our guests were all booked at 8 months out from the wedding, but we just let people know they needed to get it done! Maybe you could do some sort of brochure about your resort with booking info and send it out closer to booking time? Or maybe with the STD? Hope that helps!

I just found this forum today with four months left in my DW planning. Oh well, I love all things wedding related so I'm sure I'll have fun here anyway. I am a DW knottie on The Knot's site, but I like how this forum is broken down into topics. That means lots of ideas! My intro: I am Tara, FI is Josh. We are getting married on June 22, 2009 in Gulf Shores, AL. We have been there for the past few summers on vacation with his family, and love it! It's such a great family-oriented city that will work well for our guests who are bringing kids along (although some are coming to our wedding and leaving the kids back in our hometown in TN!). It's laid back, and will be a great place for us to exchange our vows! I'm so excited to be marrying my best friend, and time is quickly moving closer to the date! I look forward to exchanging ideas with you DW brides here!
