  1. Hi RIUMBBride711, I arranged for the horse to come at 5:00- we had a 4:00pm wedding - the horse was there for about 1/2 hour for photos- so much fun!! Your day is quickly approaching! How exciting!! Karen
  2. Hi Everyone, Here is a link to the rest of the photos that have arrived from Michael: Picasa Web Albums - lustee - Pictures Kare
  3. Picasa Web Albums - lustee - Pictures Here is the link to all of my pics!
  4. LatriceJ919 -What time did you have to leave to get there at 8:30? Who did you use for transportation? Was your TTD the day right after your wedding? I am bringing a photographer and am concerned about where to go for my session, also, being that I will have to get up, so early in the morning right after my wedding night kinda sucks..... Dunn's Is only about 10 minutes from the resort so we left around 8:20am - we went with our photographer. The TTD was the day right after the wedding - my hair actually stayed after I slept on it! Getting up early the day after the wedding wasn't so bad - we actually packed it in around 12:30am the wedding night - so getting up at 7:30am wasn't too bad - and we had a week and a half of relaxation after this!
  5. Lori954 I contacted Chandlyn - likely about 6 months before the wedding - If you have any more questions let me know! Karen
  6. Thanks to everyone for their congrats and kind comments!! Nisi39 - ALL I did at work for months before the wedding was look at the forum!! ha ha Michael is the photograhper at the resort. If you have any other questions let me know! LilJules - We went to the falls around 8:30am (as soon as the gates opened) so that's why there wasn't too many people there - I guess if a cruise ship is in you can't even go at 8:30am as there will be too many ppl - luckily there were no cruise ships there for my TTD!!!! Karen
  7. Re: A Fairytale Wedding at Riu Ocho Rios Jamaica -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Beautiful pictures! Congrats! A couple of questions: 1. What package did you buy? 2. Did you find the music/entertainment from the entertainment stage "too much" while you were having your reception below at the Seagrape? 3. What did you ceremony decorations look like? And the Seagrape ones? Did you pay extra (i.e. if you had the free package) or were they included (did you have a "paying" package) 4. You didn't say anything about your cake, how was it? So happy for you! Personally, I LOVE how the sky looks when it's clearing after rain.. I hope I have clouds in the sky on my wedding day (kinda sorta ) Nscaper: 1. We got the free package and then just added on - I ordered all flowers and was invoiced by Tai Flora before we left for Jamaica 2. The entertainment from above didn't bother us at all at the Sea Grape - we had microphones for the speeches and I didn't hear any background music while the speeches were going on or while the DJ was playing. There were a few onlookers from above but I actually didn't even notice them (being so caught up in the moment I guess ) - I was told about them later - so no worries at all! 3. For the ceremony decorations I purchased an aisle runner, 5 bags of rose petals, 2 floral arangements for in front of the gazebo, and I got the chair covers with chocolate brown ribbon. The floral arangements were used at the dinner and at the Sea Grape and the chair covers were used at dinner. They decorated the tables at the Sea Grape with white table cloths and candles. I did bring a lot of my own decorations - sea shells, starfish plates, a ceremony sign, place cards and sea shell place card holders, signature platter, party favours, etc........ 4. The cake was great - It was much better than I expected and it actually tasted good!! It toppled over by the end of the night - likely from the heat!! Hope this helps - let me know if you have any more questions!!!
  8. I arranged the horse with the guys across the street from the Riu - you have exit the resort and the horses are to the left directly across the street. The guys were super sweet - they bathed the horse, groomed her, and braided her mane for the wedding day. Her name was Angel My wedding was at 4:00 and Angel arrived at about 5:00 - we had photographs for about half an hour with her. My dress is actually fine from the TTD session - It is covered in thousands and thousands of little beads and they all stayed on! The dress just gets wet so it's not really "trashed". Once I get it dry cleaned it will be like brand new!
  9. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, thanks so much!! Your prayers must have worked cuz the rain stopped and everything went off without a hitch!!! How was your wedding? I am sure it was great!! Everything at the Riu seemed to be!!
  10. Thanks!! I was just trying to see if it worked myself and it wasn't working for me! Must just be my sloooooooooow computer!!
  11. One more thing - I can't believe I forgot to mention them - they made it all happen!!! Chandlyn and Nikisha are INCREDIBLE!! They are so nice and kind and do everything in their capability to make sure your day is PERFECT!!
  12. Hi Everyone! We are back from our perfect wedding at the Riu Ocho Rios. We were married on March 10 2009 at 4:30pm (Our ceremony was supposed to start at 4:00pm but it was postponed due to a little bit of of rain It was OK though....it cleared off and I think the pics may be even more beautiful because of the colors of the sky) The Ceremony lasted about 20 minutes - Minster Sheldon was AMAZING!! We then did pictures with Micahel until about 6:30pm. Michael was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!! I CANNOT say enough good things about him. He is so nice and super fun to work with!! We had our reception dinner at the Mammee from 6:30pm-9:00pm and then we had a private reception at the Sea Grape from 9:00pm-12:00pm. We did our speeches, cake cutting, first dance, father-daughter dance, mother-son dance, etc at the Sea Grape. It was fabulous! I teared up when I saw how beautifully the Sea Grape was decorated for us! It was a perfect night - clear sky and a full moon! The allotted time for the DJ was only until 11:00pm but I paid him to stay for an extra hour as we were all having so much fun! I used Tai Flora and they were great - the flowers for my hair arrived at 11:00am for my 11:30am hair appointment. All of the other flowers arrived at 2:00pm. My bouquet was beautiful - 11 roses, 9 green orchids, 4 white orchids, and 6 cala lilies. The bridesmaids bouquets were equally gorgeous and consisted of 6 cala lilies each. The bouts were green orchids and the wrist corsages were roses and orchids. We got two flower arrangements for in front of the gazebo and they were WELL worth the $$$ - they were only $80 each and they were beautiful - plus we were able to use them at dinner and at the Sea Grape. At the end of the night we brought them back to our room and they lived for a week!! My mother, my maid of honour, my bridesmaid, and myself all went to the Spa for manicures/pedicures, hair and make up. The ladies at the Spa are great!!!! They are sooooooooo much fun and so talented!!! The morning after the wedding we went to Dunn's River Falls to do a Trash the Dress session with Michael - this was a blast!!!! Again, Michael is soooo great!! We had so much fun with him and the pictures are unbelievable!!! If you are having any doubts about the photographer I guarantee you - you DO NOT have to worry!!!! He is truly superb - I couldn't have asked for better! I did get a huge package of pictures so I have to wait for them to come in the mail but as soon as I receive them I will post them on here. I have posted the 6 that I did receive from Michael and a few of my own (Mammee, Sea Grape, Spa, etc). If you have any questions please let me know!!! Here is the link to the photos - I am new at this so let me know if this doesn't work!! Photo Sharing by MyPhotoAlbum.com :: MyPhotoAlbum Karen
