  1. Hi Ladies, I seriously feel guilty about not having posted my pictures or my review yet but I am so busy with work and all my pictures are out of order because I have them from 9 cameras and I'm still missing pictures from 1 person. Anyway, I quickly skimmed through some of the postings and someone had a question about hair and makeup. I think that they did a really good job. I wasn't 100% happy with my hair because I have alot of it and I had envisioned something different where I would have it out but I wasn't able to because it's extremely windy there and my pictures would have been messed up. The girl did do a great job. Pictures and a review will be coming shortly. One thing, is that you have to be on top of them and get your family to talk to the staff to move the beach people and the chairs out of the way. We tipped very well to have our way and even that barely sufficed...right before I was about to walk out, the net was still up and I had to get my dad to find someone to take it down...same with the chairs. One thing that Jacy did wrong and I have no ideas how weddings are supposed to work is that after my dad gave me away, she didn't sit him down so he was next to me the whole time...I didn't mind but I don't think it was supposed to be like that...so if you guys are sticklers for details, keep that in mind. Also, for the symbolic ceremony, the person that conducts it is a baptist minister not some random guy off the street. Oh...and maybe look for something to decorate the microphone with...it looks ugly in the pictures.
  2. Hi, I'm at my honeymoon now but for the wedding we used an ipod. They provided speakers and the ipod connector for like $140. We had 16 adults and 10 children. 6 of the children ate from a children's dish of chicken tenders...about $25 each. I had the top package and after my deposit, the additional cost based on some of the stuff we added was about $2600. All the chairs had covers on them I didn't ask. We tipped the guy at the front desk $100 to make sure he gave everyone rooms together and Jacy another $100 to make sure the vollyball net was down and there were no people hanging out near the gazebo. I had the put the chairs and the tables facing not the middle of the gazebo but the right so that the hotels didn't come out in the background. If you book a honeymoon suite you get preferred club access which means you get free net. Everything came out great.
  3. I haven't decided just yet, the planner sucks and doesn't answer all my questions so...I figure I'll just wait until I'm there to see what I like best and just try to wing it with everything else. I'm just happy that it will be all over with soon because I'm getting tired of my FI's family asking me dumb questions about travelling to Mexico! The lastest was an email this morning about no fly zones and cancelled flights...it's like, go on the web and do your research first before you worry about these stupid things!!!! ugh!!!
  4. Hi Monica, I would have left them there had anybody wanted to use them but I received an email from the vendor right after I posted letting me know that he no longer had that color available so I just decided not to re-order since I only have a little 2 weeks left here...I guess it's less to carry. Jacy still hasn't answered my questions. They suck over there -Patria
  5. Thank you. I think I'm just mostly looking forward to the vacay...the wedding is secondary. I can't wait until its over and I get to jump in the beach with my dress on!
  6. I got this in "Jade" from ebay: Organza Sashes Bows Chair Ties Wedding Banquet Covers - eBay (item 300289733313 end time Mar-28-09 09:34:01 PDT) To match this color for the dress that my moh chose for herself: COLOR Bridesmaid Dresses - Browse David's Bridal's bridesmaids gowns by color She chose a long dress, I don't remember which one it was but it was chiffon. The best man will be wearing a linen shirt that same color. The ring bearer and flower girl are both 2 years old so my sister and one of my sisters in law will also be wearing matching mermaid color dresses, short chiffon to complement the moh. They chose what they wanted I have no idea, I only told them what color to get the dresses in. They will be holding hands with the babies to walk with them. The ring bearer will be wearing a little guayabera shirt and the flower girl an ivory sundress. Not a conventional bridal party but I thought it would be a cute idea. I have no idea what I want to do about the flowers or anything like that...
  7. Hey Rory, I don't know if I'm ready! I haven't done much but I went to pick up my dress on Saturday and had to make some adjustments so it won't be ready until the 28th...lets see, I ordered some chair bows on ebay, no idea what I'm doing to my hair...Jacy still hasn't gotten back to me on my list of questions! I'll be leaving NY on 4/6 staying at Dreams until 4/11 then checking in at Secrets Maroma for my honeymoon until the following week. Our families will be getting to Dreams on 4/7 and 4/8, on 4/9, the wedding day, my FI is hosting a fishing trip in the morning for the men. On 4/10, we're taking everyone to Tulum and Xelha. It should be a fun time and I'm getting excited! We also ordered underwater cameras for the kids to use at Xelha.
  8. I emailed you it and something else I had that I was unable to post because it was too large.
  9. Hi Ladies, Jacy responded back just with some attachments of pictures. She still hasn't addressed any of my questions but I'll try chasing her down for those within the next few days. Photographer.pdf
  10. The funny thing is that the one with my charge information didn't get lost, you know? Anyway, still haven't heard back and I cc'd everyone again so lets see what happens. These were my questions: -I know that the gazebo gets decorated with tulle, do you have extra tulle over there or should I bring my own? 2-Is the only place to get married the gazebo? Do you have any pictures of the other locations that are available outdoors? Near the barracuda bar looks beautiful from the pictures...or the lagoon area. 3-You mentioned that I have to make the appointment at the salon for the hair...does the salon do the makeup as well? Have the other brides been utilizing this service since the hotel re-opened? Should I bring my own makeup? 4-Also, do you have any information on the photographer? Name and website? I'd like to check this before I make a decision on whether I should bring my own or not. 5-Is there a separate children's menu? I know that my wedding package includes 20 people. I currently have 26 including myself and my fiance but within that count I have 3 2 year olds and 3 5 year olds, basically 6 small children, what is the additional price for them, is there a children's menu? 6-Do I need to confirm the food choices with my guests beforehand? From reading the boards, I've heard that you can only choose 1 entree for everyone? The guests won't have a choice at the time of the dinner? Would I be able to choose 2 entrees? How would this work? Is there an additional cost involved? 7-All of my guests have marina view rooms. 9 of my guests will be arriving on the 7th of April, 15 guests on the 8th. Would it be possible to place them all next to each other or on the same floor? 2 of those families have 4 children each with 2 rooms reserved for each family and they need to be together. I know that this isn't guaranteed but is there anything we can do to try to accomodate this at least for the 2 large families?
  11. Update on Jacy: She wrote me back...apparently, her emails to me had been lost. The thing is we had corresponded before but I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and I will now be using a hotmail account to write to her instead of my work email. I will post her response to my email regarding hair, makeup, if they have extra tulle, current pictures of weddings.
