Do you think that the WC will still set things up if you are using one of the Free Wedding packages that some resorts offer? Just curious... We are getting married at the Grand Oasis and the reviews weren't the best but we are doing it there so that our guests can afford to go and actually us too! haha... We know what we're getting into, but that was definitely one of my questions! I'm not going to go crazy... maybe a table runner and a few center pieces...

I'm really excited... we booked Grand Oasis today for 12/11/09! I have contacted a travel agent and have talked to the Wedding Coordinator... If anyone has any advice or suggestions on other things I should be thinking about sooner than later, let me know, i'm still a little confused and not sure what to do to prepare:) Thanks for any help!! Hi Everyone! Ok, so I have tried to get in contact with a Wedding Coordinator at the Grand Oasis but haven't been contacted yet... I just have a question so that I can start to let people know what is going on! My family will all be booking together, but my question is what do friends do? Does the hotel have some kind of code you would use? I will be booking through Applevacations which I have used before and liked... but I'm confused how they will know when friends book that they are with us?? I have about 30 people on our list that I think will actually make the trip...Do I have to book directly with the hotel?? Sorry if this doesn't make sense! lol Thanks everyone for your help:)

Oh thank you so much... you're absolutly right! Nothing is free!!! We are having a pretty small group going, just family and a couple of friends... and actually we thought we might like to splurge and go to the restaurant across the street from the resort if we chose the Grand Oasis... thanks for you help... your wedding looks fun, beer and taco fest! Hello! I have been reading like a crazy person all I can about Cancun weddings! One of my biggest questions is about the packages... has anyone used or know anyone that has used the "free" wedding package at either Grand Oasis or Dreams? Every one I read used one of the more expensive packages and the one review I found that used the free wasn't the best review! haha... anyways money is definitely and issue for us, so we are trying to do something special but be able to be affordable too! Hi Everyone! I have been looking around the forums for awhile and decided it was finally time to post and take advantage of everyones ideas! I am just starting to try to plan a destination wedding... We don't have alot of money and this just seems the best way to get married and still make it special! My boyfriend and I stayed at the Grand Oasis in Cancun in Nov 2007 and loved it... From what I read they will provide a complimentary wedding service with a certain amount of rooms rented... does anyone have any experience with the Grand Oasis and having a wedding there? I know it isn't the best place around, but like I said money is definitely an issue but we also went on our first vacation together there and really did love it! I'm just a little nervous... does free wedding=nightmare?! haha... we saw them setting up for a couple when we were there, and it looked beautiful! Thanks in advance to anyone that can help:) Torrie
