  1. I have the same situation and have been stressed about this since I was a little girl! My sister and I finally came up with a great solution last week. My parents got divorced when I was 3 and my dad was in and out of my life growing up. He was around most of the time, but never knew how to relate to my sister and I growing up. He became close with us once we went to college and became adults. My mom got remarried when I was 11 and my stepdad is the one I consider more of a father to me. Both are contributing financially, so I always thought it would be easiest for them both to walk me down the aisle, one on each side. Until last week... the new plan (which they both agreed to) is to have my dad and stepmom walk me down halfway, then pass me off to my mom and stepdad who will be waiting halfway down the aisle. They will then walk me the rest of the way. It kind of mirrors my life in that my dad was there first then my stepdad came into my life. They both bought it, and I am SOOOOOO relieved! Good luck whatever you decide!

  2. I just saw your reply earlier that Lo-Estrin is the pill you think they switched you to. Well coincidently, last night I had dinner with some girlfriends and 2 of them are both new to that same pill and it's been 2 months for one, and 3 months for the other since they've gotten their period! They both said their doctor told them that this pill slows it down A LOT- so some months you may not get it at all! So I really think you have nothing to worry about- it really does sound like it happens to be this pill that you're now on. Having said that, I have to agree with everyone else and just to ease your mind, I would take a home pregnancy test. I went off the pill back in July because I thought it was causing me stomach pains. I didn't get my period for a few months (which is normal for me when I'm not on the pill) but I took a test just to ease my mind. It was negative, but I didn't get my period until last night- EIGHT MONTHS LATER!!! Good luck and try not to worry!!!

  3. I also wouldn't worry yet. I was on the same pill for almost 15 years and switched and even though I was on the pill, I rarely got my period. If I did, it would last a couple of days. I think it was called Lo-estrin (not sure), but when I asked my doctor he said it was perfectly normal and that a lot of pills now don't make you get your period as regularly as some of the other ones. I'm sure your body is just adjusting to a new one, but I would go online or ask your doctor if he's heard of this before. Good luck!

  4. I would love to have fireworks going off during my first dance, but am not sure how to time this correctly! I was planning of having the ceremony start at 5 (but could be later). Figure it goes for 30-45 minutes. Then cocktail hour till 6:30/6:45ish. I checked and it's not supposed to get dark till right before 8:00. I thought as soon as the cocktail hour ends, everyone is led to the reception area, then we are announced and immediately go into the first dance. If it's not dark yet, when do we do ithuh.gif Or am I better off starting the ceremony at 6 and moving everything up an hour. Still not sure if that would work- fireworks look best when it's really dark out, not just after the sun went down. For those of you who have had them, what did you do? Thanks so much for any advice you can give!

  5. Definately go to the travel size section (near the shampoos, etc.)- I got the first aid kits for .99, small tissue packs, Shout wipes, etc. I would also check out the clothing section- they have bathing suits there now and I just got a cute sundress and cover-up for the beach. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm never able to "rush" through Target- there's too much to see!!! Have fun!

  6. Hi-

I had this idea (I think I originally heard about it from someone here) about putting a bunch of personalized water bottles in a canoe for people during the ceremony & reception. I need to send a picture to my coordinator, but can't find a picture of this anywhere!!! Has anyone here done this- or have a picture of it they can post? I'm open to other ideas, as well, just thought it would be so cool looking to have them all in an old wooden canoe. Thanks!!!

  7. My bridesmaids are throwing me a shower next weekend and I have no idea what to get them! I'm not sure how much to spend considering I am also getting them something for being my bridesmaid (which I am thinking of paying for their bridesmaid dresses). The dresses were on sale, so they are only about $95, so I think I'm getting off pretty cheap with that! I just have no idea what to do for them for the shower. I don't want to spend too much, but also don't want to be cheap about it since they are throwing me the shower, and flying to Mexico for the wedding. What have others donehuh.gif Thanks so much for any ideas/help you can give!

  8. I found these dresses from J. Crew that are perfect- just not sure if brown will look good on the beach or not. Do I need more color? The flowers are probably going to be colorful (red, pink, orange) so I kind of think a neutral background will look great! What do you all think? Has anyone used brown that has a picture to show me? Thanks!!!

These are the dresses I found:

  9. Wow! Thanks for posting this! I am also in LA and am trying to get up the nerve to have these pics done myself! I didn't see any packages on her site that included a book- are you making your own? This may be a stupid question, but I guess you pick a package based on how many "outfits" you want to wear- then you bring everything yourself, right? I'm getting married April 26- so I guess I better make up my mind and call her soon!

  10. I wouldn't worry! I am getting married April 26 and up until yesterday only 3 people had booked. Between yesterday and today we have 20 more! Flights came down in price a lot, as did the hotel. I sent out a quick "no pressure" email this morning just letting people know about these new fares. I finally booked mine today! Good luck!

  11. We are hopefully booking ours today or tomorrow. Wedding in Acapulco, stay for a couple of days after the wedding, then either Dreams or Moon Palace (Tulum) for 7 nights, then the Tides Cancun for the last 3 nights. We are getting that $490 deal (don't think it includes a butler- but does have a private plunge pool)! Overall, we will be in Mexico for 17 nights!
