I am definitely sending positive vibes to all the brides who have had to postpone / move due to the current situation in Mexico...I wish you all a wonderful wedding, regardless of your location Monica--thanks for your insight on this virus...good to know! Since I am over 2 months out, we are still very hopeful that everything will calm down and we can get married at DPA as planned...however a couple of our guests who are over 60 are looking to possibly cancel anyway, so we will see. Hi everyone...sorry that I have been MIA! Quick question, I know that a couple of you said that you were bringing your own speakers down rather than renting the resort audio system (RBB, I think you were one?). If you are doing this, what kind of speakers are your bringing? Like an iHome dock, or something different?? Just curious...trying to decide whether to rent or bring... Thanks!!

marryinghimagain---I believe that it is a total of 5 rooms for at least 3 days (inc. bride-groom room) or 7 nights in a honeymoon suite.

Forgot to add that dinner will really just be for us to eat, because we are doing all the group wedding-y things right after the ceremony - toasts, cake cutting, etc.

If the resort is below 60%, we may try to rent El Patio for the fee (as stated in the guide), but if not, then I think that we will just get 3-4 tables at one of the restaurants. -After dinner, we will probably head to Desires or one of the other bars for some dancing and fun. That's it, ladies...I welcome any feedback about these plans! Having the dinner and/or cocktail hour be private is not that big of a concern for us, and honestly I cannot justify giving that much more $ to the resort since everyone has already paid to eat & drink for the week. That is just me...everyone has different priorities and visions for their wedding. We are doing a cocktail party in August after we get back, so are trying to keep extra expenses at a minimum. Does this make sense?

I am not sure how US prices and procedures differ from Canada. There have been a couple Canadian brides that have posted on this thread, so hopefully they will chime in!
