My stylist is coming with me. She and her boyfriend booked just recently. My suggestion is find something simple that wont require alot of heat. Or get your hair done at home in a style that could be touched up upon your arrival. Hope this helps!

get this- im a school teacher and we have 2 kids out with the flu and not allowed to return back to school for 7days. Why should I worry about Swine Flu in Mexico. I need to worry about Swine Flu in NJ specifically, my classroom :}

I'll be sure to have bug spray on hand because my cocktail hour is at 7 and outside. Thanks for the tip.

What day are you actually leaving for Mexico? and are most of your guest rebooked?

Sounds cool girl! thats the one thing I haven't gotten the courage to do. So I don't see it happening at this point. I had my bridal shower last Sunday and got some really cute stuff, but I think thats the only way he's gonna get to see it, I dont think I have the guts to put it in a book.

Ok, so I sent an Email off to Excellence asking for the general managers email address. Interestingly enough, I recieved a reply almost immediately from the groups as well as Yamina. I really didn't even want to go over her head but it seemed to be effective. Just some info in case you wedding is getting close and your frustrated like me.

I'm becoming a little frustrated with the response time on my emails to Yamina. I don't send emails weekly or daily, once a month if that. I sent off an email about 3 weeks ago and no response was given. I really don't think it should take a wedding planner 1 to 2 weeks to respond to emails, for a hotel who wants your business. My TA suggested emailing the hotels general manager to express my dissatisfaction. I'm not trying to get her in trouble but I do really think she should be more on top of things. What do you think?

I got the extra, discounted rate as well, it was a great help. We have to make our final payment this Wednesday and we can pay it in Cash. Thats one less burden off our shoulders. The name of the game for my wedding is don't use credit cards so the extra discount went a long way.

Just checking in with you all to see how your planning is going. I'm so happy I worked with a travel agent and did not just book thru an online travel company. My TA was able to get us the lower rate, saved us over 2 grand. At this point the major change is that my FI grandparents(who have been his parents) backed out on the trip. They're using the Swine Flu and aging as their reason but whatever. I was disappointed for him, most of his family are staying off site and are only coming for the wedding. But he seems ok with everything, he just wants to get married. Its unfortunate they won't be there but the show must go on. We are getting married in NJ before we get to Mexico, so we'll probably have them come to that. Only problem with that is his Grandmother cant hold water, she's such a blabber mouth. But either way were still getting married so im brushing it off regardless.

I'm glad you were able to change things, I know its not the way you wanted to be, but in the end you'll be glad you did. For now you just wait, until June continue to search the threads and find more exciting things to add to your special day. I know your bummed right now but just think it will be beautiful and just the way you pictured it with all the guest you want to be their and support you.

All your pics look great! I love how you fused the blue and pink. Those are my wedding colors too, so it was nice to see how you used them.

How is your FI feeling about this?

I'm really sorry that the people you expect to support you and your FI are too scared to go. I have actually been asked if I had a plan B and im not getting married for another 2 months. Its one of the most annoying questions, and does nothing but piss me off because I feel like others are asking with the mentality that (im helping her think) but all it really does is stress you out more. I have also told people to do what they have to do I'm getting married on July 15, 2009 in Mexico come hell or high water. If they dont like it say home. Its about you and Durante, you have to keep remembering that. If your afraid for the safety of yourself consider using travel insurance which I hope you got. Don't allow others to steal your joy as hard as that maybe. Its not about them and keep reminding yourself of that.

I'm sorry that people are blowing off your wedding day. I know how important it is for people to be there, to celebrate, and the share with you. Its important to me as well. I probably would be sad about that also. But Sweetie let me remind you, its YOUR day. My brother got married in the Bahamas 3 years ago and it was only 10 of us and we had a blast. the most important people will be there for you. I'm sure you will have fun just the 10 of you, in fact I promise you will, just wait and see. Because when it's all said and done you'll look back on the day and realize it was only about you and him anyway. When it comes to the wedding package go with your gutt. If you really dont see the need, dont spend the money.

Everything will work out this is just something to throw you off course for the moment. Just remember May 14th is comeing and it will be a day that you'll have to scrap the smile off your face.

I'm so happy you got your dress and love it. Im sure we'll see pic's soon with your wedding being less then a month away. My alterations were included with the cost of the dress and truely weren't overpriced considering I found my dress online for like $90.00 cheaper at the bridal store. $400.00 I would have had a stroke. I really didnt need any alterations she actually only had to put two pins in at the bustline and a bustle.

I just picked up a Goddess bra for one of my bridesmaids who is a 42EEE. She loves it and it works with her strapless bridesmaides dress.
