Thanks! Hey there..... We found out that the Justice of the Peace for the resort can do all the legal stuff the morning of your wedding. In mexico, you are not officially married until you are declared married. In our case, we are having a very close friend and Catholic Priest do our ceremony. It is not a Catholic wedding. We are pretty excited about the resort letting this happen. I also believe I saw someone else on this thread state that they had the same situation happen with them. Ask your WC and you can probably set this up. Also, keep in mind that sometimes the WC's in Miami will give you different information than the final WC in Miami. They are all doing a great job but sometimes there are some inconsistencies in what they tell you. L.
  2. Hello All, We are just three weeks away from our big day at the Moon Palace. We have been in touch with our WC Rosa Lily Sanchez. She has been doing great and we even had a chance to speak to her by phone this past week. I want to chime in on a few things..... Regarding flights and guests talking about how much it costs..... Don't worry about it. We just told our invitees where it was and before we knew it we had about 35 people confirmed. If they want to go, they will make it happen. Also, if Mexicana or AeroMexico airlines fly from your cities, go to their websites directly and early on to book. Each airline has special rates only available online. As an example, 13 of our guests were able to book from San Francisco to Cancun for only $220 each. The rest only paid $305 each. Right now, airfare is going for about $700. Now a question for the recent brides.... We are getting married at the Bugambilia gazebo and having the reception at the bugamvilia terrace. Cant really say we visited this place on our site visit. Can anyone shed some light on what this place looks like? The WC has told us we can change the location when we get there if we want to. I guess there is only one other wedding that day. We leave in less then two weeks.....the jitters are starting to settle in. Lorena
  3. Hello all....thanks for the welcomes....Here are our details: -Ceremony on September 6, 2008 at 4:00 PM at the Imaculate Conception Chapel. Deluxe package. -Civil service to be performed by Justice of the Peace in the office in the morning. Document signing only. Our service will be performed by our good friend who is a Catholic Priest. (non catholic service) -Cocktail immediately following the service so that people don't get bored of waiting around while we do photos. -Buffet dinner at the Buganvilia Terrace with DJ playing all the music for us so we don't have to worry about it. -We are also having a welcome dinner for about 35 guests on Friday September 5th at Aricefes restaurant. -Our WC was assigned two weeks ago (YES, ONLY TWO WEEKS AGO!!!). Her name is Lily Sanchez. So far so good. Pretty decent communication. -The original WC out of Miami was Karina. She apparently no longer works in the weddings department. This made for some challenging times but we managed to get through it. OK - this is getting too long. Please ask if you have questions.
