  1. I understand exactly what you are going through!

If your family and friends are giving you a hard time because they aren't able to attend, I feel bad for them. They should be congratulating you on your upcoming wedding, not making you feel bad that they aren't able to attend.

Remember, this is your day! You should have things the way YOU want them.

  2. I'm sure you will look fantastic no matter what you wear!

I'd like to suggest something a bit different. I've shot literally hundreds of engagement pictures - Here's two things to think about -

#1 - Remember that you two are in love. If you can, forget about the camera for a few moments, and just try to be in the moment with your fiancee. Have him hold you close, snuggle, enjoy each other, and just be!

#2 - Look for spots with "open Shade" Avoid direct sunlight. Instead look for a big shady area near the side of a building (don't get right up next to the wall all the time), or under an awning. Also avoid spotty shade, like under a tree, where there are lots of light and dark patches that can make your face and clothes look mottled.

Have fun, and be sure to post a link here when you are all done!

  3. Wow, what an amazing gown!

You look fantastic - nothing to worry about - really!

I'd like to make a few small suggestions regarding posing for pictures - some ideas that might enhance the pics when you get in front of the camera next time -

Instead of having your toes, hips and shoulders, and chin, all facing the camera at the same things, thing about twisting a little bit. Imagine if only one of the four things were pointed at the camera. You can practice a good static twist in front of a full length mirror for practice.

Congrats on picking out a fantastic gown.

  4. A couple of notes (from a working traveling wedding photographer):

I use my AMEX for all reservations - which has built in travel ins.

I also have insurance trough several of my professional agencies.

Finally, I have a network of friends around the world just in case.

One more thought - I almost always book my own flights, and make sure there are several flights arriving to the location between when I leave and when the wedding starts - just in case...

  5. howdy and welcome.

I'm also new here, and take the advice from above - use the search feature and you will almost always find what you need. If for some reason you don't be specific with your question and you will get great answers!

  6. What a great theme to do!

Here are a few suggestions of things I've seen:

    - Books by authors from those countries

    - Animals and figurines specific to the country

    - Appetizers specific to the country's cuisine

    - Wine specific to the country

At the end of the night you can encourage people to take these things as favors, too.
