Hello,
I know I'm a bit late on this post... but I think this a very relevant topic : )I emailed about 5 or 6 planners when we first started looking in Playa del Carmen. We we knew that we did not want an AI wedding at a huge resort, but that's about it. Most of the planners that got back to us just sent over there contract info and deposit requirements. I was very turned off by this so all of those planners were immediately taken out of the running. In the end we are going with Luisa at Weddings Riviera Maya.
I also included a questionnaire that I filled out to give the planners an idea of what we were looking for:
What time on would you like the ceremony?
How many guests will be attending?
So where do you want to get married? on the beach or in a catholic church?
The flowered arch colorful and full of flowers, simple or canopy?
Any music for the ceremony like mariachis or a Mexican Caribbean Trio?
Photographer? For ceremony, 4 hours, 6 hours or 8 hours?
Video? Ceremony only? Or the reception as well?
Make up for you? Any extra make ups?
Hairdresser for you? Any extra ones?
Wedding cake?
A cocktail hour after the ceremony?
How about the reception? Do you need one?
Buffet or seat down dinner?
A location on the beach or on 5 th avenue? Formal or informal?
Open bar or you would pay for drinks at the end of the evening?
Would you like a reception place with a dance floor?
Music for the reception: would you like a DJ, or a Caribbean trio or mariachis, a live band or classical music?
I hope this helps!
