Luvtoteach...since I made the original post we've decided to go with one of the resorts on the island. However in my research with Almarie, because we were doing a cruise wedding we wouldn't have been able to do a site visit a head of time. However Almarie is ABSOLUTELY wonderful! I trust her 100%. Unfortunately the only site she had available in Montego Bay didn't mesh with my dream. However with that said I've since then talked to several who have used her sites in other locations (Ocho Rios and Negril) and the photos are breathtaking! One of the girls on this site who previously posted on this thread, Driftaway, used Almarie and was kind enough to answer a million questions I had and even sent photos of her wedding. You might want to talk to her. Also regarding the package we were going to do the Cruise Package which included everything we needed. Once again because we were arriving via cruise we didn't need the reception piece of things so I never discussed that with Almarie. I can't stress enough how wonderful Almarie is to work with. She was always prompt about answering my emails and questions. Even after we decided not to go with her she still emailed to check to see how our plans were coming along. To me one of the most important things in a WC is trust. In all my dealings with her she made me feel 100% comfortable which made the process VERY easy! Good luck!

I've received 2 quotes so far. The first one was $1495 and included everything for the ceremony, a mini-reception with cake & champagne and transportation for up to 10 guest to the cruise to the ship. The second quote was $1195 and didn't include the reception, no flowers, no transportation for the guests (just us), smaller photo package, etc. I'd be interested to see what others were quoted for her services. I've heard from others that everything is neogotiable in Jamaica. Thought it was a bit odd the first time that her package was scary close to what I told her my budget was. I curious to see if I shot myself in the foot by giving her my budget instead of low-balling it ya know? At the moment I am always waiting to hear back from Helen G Events. She's been excellent communication wise so far so we'll see how that works out.

For those getting married in Montego Bay, where are you getting married? I finally found a WC (a couple actually) and they are asking if a beach at a hotel location is okay (I originally asked for a private beach). I found cool pictures of Half Moon. What are some other options? Thanks!

Don't give up! It's worth it!!! I found another WC!!! So far here is the list: Tropical Weddings Jamaica Helen G (helengevents.com) Denise Taylor (Can't remember the website I found her on but her email address is [email protected]) I've talked to all three so far. TWJ and Denise have been willing to work with me on my low budget wedding (including licenses, ceremony & photography). Keep in mind we will be arriving in MoBay by cruise therefore I don't have to worry about the hotel piece of things. I would bet money either one of these will be able to help you do a wedding while working with your hotel. Helen G I received a "additional info form" so I can't speak for her just yet. Hey there! In my search today I found Helen G Events (helengevents.com). They do wedding planning and might be able to help you out. I haven't contact them or anything...still hoping Tropical Weddings Jamaica can solve my issue. Keep me posted if you find anything!

Does anyone know of any good wedding coordinators (outside of the resorts) that will work with cruise weddings? I've only been able to find one company (Tropical Weddings Jamaica) and it appears no one has actually had a wedding with them. I'm a little nervous to book with them without having some sort of feedback ya know? Thanks for any help you can give me ladies! Cancel!!! Found another posting looking for the same info!

Hey everyone! Just found this site and am excited to learn more about everyone here as well as find some useful info! My FI and I have booked a cruise and will be getting married in Montego Bay, Jamaica Nov. 19, 2008. Right now I am looking for an independent WC that does MoBay weddings.
