Also, was the outside area small? Is it big enough to fit tables and chairs? I am having around 60 guests, at least that is what we have so far. Thanks again.
I think the biggest wedding they have had is 110 so you are fine. And I also remember talking to Lindsay about outside WCs and I know it has been done. Just dont want to waste your time and money. Just weigh it all out before putting your money down, KWIM? I did hire Mishka Designs from this forum to do some of the projects I didn't have time to do: Maracas, placecards, menus... That would be an option as well. You HAVE TO meet Lindsay. Seriously she is amazing to work with. Well worth your time. I am so excited for you!

PS Lindsay is in San Fran for the summer:) And Melissa lives in OC I believe.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to PV in August to check out some places so this one will definately be one of them.

I'm so happy I found this forum, super informative and great people who make the stress of wedding planning fun. Thanks again for the info.
Nice. I found Playa Fiesta through pictures on my photographers site... I was looking for the same thing as you said. How great that you can do a site visit! Make sure you contact Adam and Lindsay about your visit, they will take you on a tour, and do menu tasting, etc. You will get a good idea what to expect that way. And honestly, pictures don't do it justice:) Keep me posted!
  3. Thank you!

When you have a wedding at Playa Fiesta, it comes with a wedding coor., and a very good one! Lindsay is the owner's wife. So Adam handles the booking, etc. and Lindsay is the WC. They are from San Francisco and are very detail oriented which is nice. Much more communication than you would recieve at another resort/hotel outside of the U.S. There is another WC, Melissa that was married there a few months after me. We met on this forum and she Lives in CA... awesome. It is nice to have quick responses to your questions, and past brides to bounce ideas off of.

Did you find the Playa Fiesta thread on here? It is in the Puerto Vallarta forum and has a ton of info too.

It is not that inexpensive... but if you want to get a better idea, the owners and wedding coordinators are from the US (California) and they can help you get a better idea on pricing.
  5. Congrats Sarah! Everything looked fabulous.... and you are so beautiful! Love your dress.

And the mustaches... is there a story behind that? Looks like you had a really fun group. So glad everything worked out. Makes all of the planning, worrying, PITA guests (ha) worth it, huh? We had the same questions/complaints about lack of mega resort amenities too. All was forgotten. PF is truely a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most.

Awesome! We took our TTD pics in the same spot!

You're welcome:) Haha just kidding. That is awesome Jeremy! Any couple would be LUCKY to have you capture their special day!
  8. Congrats Magalie!!!! Hope you are having an amazing time!

Kristy, we didn't do a site visit either. When we were there for our anniversary this year there were a few couples doing a site visit. It mainly consists of a food tasting lunch with Adam and Lindsay. You have a chance to visit with them, taste the food, ask questions, etc. 2 of the couples actually stayed at the hotel so they got a good idea of what to expect as well. If other rooms are unoccupied, they'll open them for you as well.

  9. Hi Ladies,

Mel said it best about lunches. A lot of times we skipped lunch or did just chips and guac because it the heat your appetite changes. I just explained it as "this way you are not paying for meals you are not using."

Playa Fiesta requires a minimum room/night to have your wedding here. This is because you are renting out the entire (or almost the entire) hotel for your wedding group. This experience is so unique, and not for everyone. I will say that filling the rooms was the most stressful thing for all of us (right, girls?) BUT, it is really the only concern. though it isn't a bargain hotel, it is a bargain for the amenities and service!!! Unparalleled. Sounds like you are doing the right things, checking with your guests, etc.

About the time shares: we had one couple stay at a time share and they weren't really part of the group. It was really too bad because they totally missed out on this once in a life time experience. Other hotels: they may save on the room, but besides the fact that they would miss out on so much, their taxi fares, guest passes, etc would equal the difference pretty much, Hope this makes sense. I am on vacay and on my phone!

Did you ask for a signature drink and was that included in your open bar price? Or did you have to pay extra to have a signature drink? We're trying to pass on the extra charges like Mojito bar, etc.

    Thanks!
I skipped the champagne and did the blue drinks incl in open bar. Just ask when you get there.
