  1. I am glad that you were able to make a decision. I can tell you are stressed out. One thing I wonder are the chair covers extra or did they bring them? When I saw any weddings all the chairs were the brown plastic chairs. But at dinner one of the tables were set up with the chair covers (different colors though). I never knew about them. They look really nice. They were not in our budget anyway but that may be a good question for some past ROR brides or Chandlyn.

  2. We just got married at the ROR March 13th. Don't worry they do this everyday. I am not the type of person to just let the planning go until we got there. It all turned out fine. i am not sure how that resort works with reservations but make your hair appt. before you go and the wedding cord. should make the dinner reservations. Good luck and don't worry its a NO PROBLEM island!!! Ha! Good Luck!!

It wasn't easy!!!!! I had to try and give him my vision and explain that it will all look good together and it wouldn't look bad. He didn't wear it that night to dinner. That was fine with me. He kept telling me he was wearing it just for the pictures. After it was all said and done he was really glas he wore it.
  4. We were just married March 13th at the ROR. I dn't hear from her until about 2 weeks before our wedding. I was so stressed out. When we got there we made an appointment with her. She is the busiest woman in the world!!! She made herself sick and was able to get an assistant. When we were there it was hard to slow her down to talk with her. But she had everything in order for our wedding. i don't iknow how she does it. She had 3 weddings everyday. I do know that she gets there at 9am US central time everyday. I don't know if you can but that may be a good time to try and call. So don't stress ( I know you will. HA!) if you havent heard from her. She will get back to you and will do a great job getting you what you need. Good luck!

But then again I remember seeing a pic where Riu was setting up an arch right by the gazebo so it was kind of pointless.
The bamboo arch is extra just FYI. It was $200 but well worth it. The free arch they give you is the palm looking thing that they have on the gazebo. The beach gazebo is not far away from the arch but you don't see it in your pictures. During our wedding they had two security type people standing on the sides of us so no one would walk behind us, but there were people standing on the sides and in front of us watching. It did not bother me. It seemed secluded because I was so focused on what was going on with the ceremony. I think no matter what type of arch you get that is where they do the ceremony. Any further over to the left is a public beach. There were boats in the background and a few people off to the sides swimming but Michael asked them to move and also cropped out the boats and people. I liked the beach the best because our whole point of getting married in Jamaica was to be on the beach with the sand in our toes. The gazebos are beautiful but they are not the same as right on the beach almost in the water. I hope this helps. Good luck!

smile43.gif How many people did you have? Did you pay extra for a bigger cake or did you just get the free cake? If you just took the free cake I am going to be mad! My cake was just on a plate. It seemed fine to me at the time but now hearing this I think I was jiped! Oh well I loved everything that day! I would maybe ask Chandlyn to make sure.
  7. I am pretty sure you do not have to make a final decision until you get there. I was very set on the beach. The gazebo was nice on the beach but i really wanted to be on the beach near the water so we went with the bamboo arch. It was worth it to us. Also they schedule the weddings far enough apart that there is time in between. ALso someone said the white rooms behind it. In the pictures it looks white but its not. It is purple!!! just a note. ALso for our wedding on the beach they had two security guard type people standing near the site and made sure no one went behind us on the beach. Right next to us was a private beach do that helped a lot. Also when we got our pictures they took out the people, boats, and even the bouies (sp?). But we cant do that on the pictures we took on our own. But if you buy pictures don't worry there will not be anyone or anything in the pictres. I posted my pictures of the beach if you want to look. The pond gazebo was very pretty but I felt I am in Jamaica I can get married on a pond gazebo at home. Whatever you choose you will look amazing and everything will be perfect!!!!!!

We had the ceremony and then walked over to the table to have the sand ceremony and sign the papers. we then walked back to the alter to finish and congratulations and then we did pictures. We brought everything for the Sand ceremony. Hope that helps.

Did they give you a formal introduction before dinner? Did you rent the disco? Also in another thread you mentioned:

"they brought our cake just on a plate and had the knives etc for us to use. We didn't do a guest book because we only had one other couple with us."

They didn't have a cake stand? Or a cake cutting set?
    Congrats again!
I heard the CD player a little when I was walking down but it was closer to where everyone was sitting. I was such a mess that i really didn't try and listen for the music. I was fine for me. After the ceremony was all over we were walking back and the music was still on. I was really suprised. It was kind of nice because now I could relax and enjoy the music. Chandlyn is standing there during the cereomny and will make sure that everyone can hear it Im sure.
The cake just came on a plate and they did have a cake cutting set. The knife and the spatula thing. I don't know what it is called. The picture is on our other computer and when my husband : ) gets home with it i will post the pictures of the cake.
We did not have any intorduction but we only had one other couple with us and we all walked in together. There was a bride next to us that hade more people and I didn't hear them say anything but when they arrived everyone was cheering. Im sure everything will work out fine.
Did you ask about the Seagrape reception? Someone posted pictures on another thread. i think it was our ROR wedding was great. or something lie that. It looks like they just set up the tables and chairs on the beach and you use the beach bar.
    Hope this all helps!

I know on his price sheet it says he will give you all of the pictures taken, but you have to pay for the higher quality ones. I know we are going to be buying some, but how did the others turn out? Are they a lot grainier (sp?), would they be able to be printed out still? Thanks!!
I didn't see that on the price list but I maybe just didn't pay attention. We were only going to get the 30 pictures on the CD but when we were looking at them it was so hard to choose 30 out of 275. We did narrow it down to 50 and ended up getting the 50 on the CD. Also we had to pay for him to be at the wedding for the initial package and this included 10 pictures on the CD and 10 prints. So in all we got 60 pictures. He told us that he keeps all
    (275) pictures on file and he will email them to us for our family to look at and they can purchase them online. When we were looking at the pictures it had writing on it, so i don't know if when he sends them to us it will have that on it or not. Also the pictures that we bought, they took out everything that we didn't want in the pictures. For example the boats and people in the ocean. I don't think they would do that for all of them. This may be a good question for him. He was very nice and did a great job! I hope this helps you out. Pictures were a big deal to me and we were on a tight budget. It all worked out really well.
  12. They opened the salon early for me. I made the appointment before we got there. you will have to pay 1/2 online and the rest there. My appointment was at 8:00 because i was nervous i wouldn't have enough time to get ready. She did my hair quick. it only took her about 45 minutes. I didn't have any BM's.

  13. I second all the tables are the same size. I saw a large wedding party at dinner and they had a LONG table that everyone was sitting at. I cant think where they would do a seagrape reception. But I do know they will push tables together and it could be long. ALso they brought our cake just on a plate and had the knives etc for us to use. We didn't do a guest book because we only had one other couple with us.
