And the alterations I was quoted, aren't going to be too pricey either because there is not a whole lot to be done to it. It's (as cheesy as it sounds) like this dress was made for me. I'm really excited about it.That's awesome! I love a good bargain!

I feel like less of a poster sometimes because I haven't reached 150 posts yet but I do participate in the stuff I find important and I relate to. I'm sure I'm going to insult someone...but it feels so impersonal to simply post the same thing over and over just to reach that magic number.
actually Mrs.J for us "older" members it is quite refreshing to see a noob come on and contribute to the forum in a way that is beneficial for the other members. so thank you for being here and and participating!
It is very annoying when people just post to reach their 150 simply so they can download the attachments then you never see them again!

thanks for posting the pic for me to see it! W00T! W00T!I LOVE IT! I can't wait to see you in it! how long did they say it would take to come in?

I want to nominate:
B2B: Lo (with some stars/squigglys in there I think). This is her last time to be a B2B!
Mrs: Cougs

I also think incessant bumping takes away from the personal side of the site; meaning after you see someone post the same thing to 50 people, it's clear (at least to me) they're just trying to increase their post count to get out of the dreaded noobie category.
Â
I'm sure my comments might irrirate some people but I've been thinking this for a little while now and was nervous to say anything because I'm still kind of new and didn't to ruffle any feathers.
Lea, no there is not really an official rule against bumping old threads just to get your post count up. You are not the only one who finds it frustrating by any means! As a B2B I bet it is even more frustrating for you than for us old Mrs.'s!

Love it Nathaniel!
Â
Megan I am already so excited to see your pics from Nathaniel! (well in 8 or so months!)
Â
PS - I think that if you don't start your wedding day out on a boat with a life jacket and your closest friends/family, you truly are missing out! haha

have you tried searching "pocketfold" on the forum?
Â
Many have posted their finished produts and you can get great ideas from searching through there first. here are just a couple that popped up, also my finished invite thread

that was a last minute addition and I am SO glad we did it! It was a hit! I dont think I will ever again be taking tequila shots with my grandma, aunts and mom/dad all at once ever again!
Â
So we had to buy all of the tequila for it. We just went to a liquor store and bought like 5-6 bottles once we arrived in PV. Back then there was not an extra charge for it, but check with Kelly that may have changed now? Nicole (WC who is no longer there) did the set up of it for us, the limes, stand and shot glasses were all provided. I made the sign on my own and just had Nicole set that out too.
-
EricaMarie,
Â
If Kelly is telling you that Wednesdays are more busy because of the cruise ships coming in then I would take that as she is telling you that for a reason! The wedding area is on the complete other side of where the Rythms of the Night show/dinner is but you would still feel the presense of people around if that makes sense at all.
Â
If you are having any concerns about the wednesday thing then i would go for another day if it is possible.
-
Nope! there is nothing I would do different. Everything was perfect for us! sure there were minor things that didn't go as planned (like my ipod not working properly) but really nothing that makes me regret any decision that I made.

I had him also do my flower girls hair. I had no BM's. I think my total for my hair/makeup and FG's hair was like $270ish...I added a tip to that though too.

we had 3 younger kids at our wedding (all under age 10). They loved it there! actually they spent the entire day there with me and kayaked, hiked, snorkeled...all that fun stuff.
Â
Yes it is fine there for kids BUT you have to remember that there are no actual lights there once it gets dark. everything is lit by torches or candles. so yes a child (or anyone really) could easily trip and fall once it gets dark, that in my opinion would be the only "safety hazard", especially making the walk back to the boat from the reception area. But really it is fine for kids.
Â
Nobody got sick on the boat out of my guests either but they all did say it was a VERY VERY choppy ride. I think that though is because the boat was late leaving PV with my guests (my guests fault not Vallarta Adventures) so they had to book it out there. all the boat rides though that I have been on to LC and back were very smooth, including for the wedding I have been out there 3 times.
Â
oh! and what was your question about December weather? I did my site visit in December...the weather was beautiful! a bit chilly in the evening but not cold by any means. We did not go though during the holiday season, more the beginning of December so yes I can imagine that flights will be more expensive for your guests in late december just because of the time of the year. If you give them enough time to plan/save you should be fine.
-
have you tried using the search function? there are a lot of threads out there already on DW invite wording...here are just a couple that came up

Ok, am I the only one confused here?
Â
this is thread is in the PV forum. There is a Fernando that has a salon and does hair out of his salon in Nuevo Vallarta, Las Caletas typically uses him for their brides.
Â
There is also a Fernando in the Playa/Cancun area? I tried once to straighten out WHICH Fernando this thread is about but now it is all over the place again...
Â
Mods, maybe you could put PV in the title of this thread?
-
oh the details are the fun part!
Â
no fireworks for us, we just couldn't justify the cost. we lucked out though, on our wedding day the International Fireworks Show or something was there so they were shooting a TON off from PV, from Caletas they were just in the distance but hey I got my fireworks! Anyways, it just wasn't worth the cost IMO.
Â
oooh when is your wedding? I hope prices do drop for you!
-
BEAUTIFUL pics! and awesome news about La Luna!

I'm still waiting to hear back from the company on this answer - I hope they can return my question soon! While you seem to all know so much about Las Caletas, can I ask a few more questions?
Â
- Do you know the rain contingency plan?
- Does the company pick up guests via catamaran (for the primier package) only from certain hotels or any hotel along the PV coastline?
- Do you have a recommendation of where to have all guests stay? From the posts I've read, it seems like Dreams is the popular place.
Â
Thanks so much for the help!

Â
As far as I know, the shuttle can pick you up from wherever it is that you are staying.
Â
We stayed at Dreams (which was AMAZING!!!!!! I highly recommend it!!!!) and I know that a lot of other girls have too. I didnt do a ton of other research.. but we also thought about staying at the Riu and Crown Palace I think it was..
Â
Here are some links that my travel agent recommended when I was still looking for a hotel

um wait...on the bolded parts you guys are talking about two different things?
Â
The boat/catamaran does not pick you up from the hotel. You will either pick that up from the Nuevo Vallarta marina or the marina that is more near downtown PV (depending on what hotel you are staying at).
Â
The shuttle to get guests from the hotel to the marina will pick up at any hotel yes. Also you don't have to get a shuttle. our guests just got in taxis and that was a much cheaper option.

Alison,
Welcome to the forum!
Â
My guess is that yes, they adjust the time so that you aren't getting married in the dark!
I know there are some others around here that were married in Oct/Nov so I am sure they can chime in on that!
-
also did you check with Kelly? ours were done through Las Caletas. we had solid color orange, green and pink, engraved with our info.

Â
Coffee? You know it. I would love to meet you in person!
ha! yes i know that "taboo" feeling. to this day when I tell people that I jumped in the pool/ocean in my wedding dress I get the strangest looks! they look at me like I am crazy! I tell them though that it was SO much fun to do and truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. then I show them the actual pics and they ooooo and ahhhhhh because the pics really are so awesome!
