  1. Pix as promised!! It's probably random to have pix of girls you don't know up- but I love pictures in general, so if you guys are like me- enjoy! :) We had alot of fun-but lord, I think I'm getting to old for that kind of partying! :)

Cute favors.. every girl got a "customized" cupcake w/ her initial on it...

Some girls didn't stick the the "dresses" dresscode- but everyone looked hot! :) and we had champagne, and margaritas (for mexico theme!)

Some of the girls toasting in the limo....Click the image to open in full size.

I don't know why I took this shot-- it ended up being lethal. This was the last picture where everyone looks still nice and smiley (no one is sick yet, or sweaty from dancing-hehe)....

I'm offically "ready" to get married! :) YAH! :)

  2. Hi everyone!! I missed yesterday's post-- we had my bachorlette party last night and I'm struggling a bit today! :)

Jwolfe- you are gone and I missed wishing you off!- so if get online there, CONGRATS!! super super excited for you!!!!

We'll be there from May 13-21st--- I am hoping to see some of you ladies while we are there!!!

I'm super super excited about the vacay and the wedding! We leave 3 weeks from Tuesday!! YAH YAH!!! it'll be the longest 3 weeks ever.....

  3. I voted the $2K- but only bc I bought two-- my actual wedding dress is a Watters and was $1,200 and I love it.... I bought my Hjelms for a private dinner in Mexico and for the AHR here at home.... The Hjelms was more expensive than the Watters- I kinda regret buying it bc my spending got out of control-- I love it! - but it was bought in a "diva" moment- that I've regretted since :)

My shoes were nine west flipflops for $69 and my alterations for both dresses were a staggering $575-- I threw up (literally) went I got home from paying for those.

This is definitely my last post-- I'm feeling a tad nauseous thinking about the money I spent.....smile105.gif

i LOVE the belly dancer idea!! how fun!!! you guys have fun too! I want to see pix!
  5. Tomorrow night, one of my gfriends is throwing me a shower at her house-- it's "cocktail themed"- she is serving "sex and the city" type cocktails and everyone has to wear a cute dress- hehe.... That is from 7:30-10PM- then we are having a limo pick us up and take us downtown for the night! :) shots.gif

I'm super excited about all 10 of us being able to go out and drink and dance-- it's pretty rare that all the gfriends can be in one spot at one time!

I will post pix next week!! Whohooo!

  6. I am so sorry you have had such a rough time.... It's such a shame. I honestly am 100% satisfied with Valeria and my "wedding planning" at EDR- but this forum has shown me that, unfortunately, other brides haven't had the same experiences. It seems as if Monica isn't as consistent or easy to deal with as Valeria has been, and the new policies that are affecting new brides are out of control...

I just wish other brides could have had the experience I have had---- it is hard to recommend a bride to the resort, when you aren't sure they will have the same experience. I wish you had the opportunity to work with Valeria and I just wish Karisma would not stoop so slow as to try and enforce these new insane policies to new brides.

I am so sorry!- Please keep us updated!!

We have to select 1 appetizer, 2 main courses and I believe that it's unlimited coffee, drinks and mimosas. No menus provided - you will need to decide in advance which appetizers and main courses you want to be an option for your guests.

We are having a private cocktail party following the 4:30 reception at the same location as the ceremony (gazebo 55). The private cocktail parties last 2 hours, and I believe that private receptions last 4 hours.

I don't have a list of all of the site locations for the weddings and reception areas - sorry. We were originally going to have the ceremony on the beach, but decided to change it to gazebo 55 after Monica sent some photos of it, and we decided to have the cocktail party at the same site.

For such a long response, I didn't answer many of your questions - sorry! :)
    Happy planning!
Hi! We are getting married at EDR in 4 weeks- I see you are right down the road from me! :):):) I live off Tryon Road in Raleigh.... Where did you buy your dress!!?

Others who have been there would know the exact difference between faisanes and gazebo 55, but from what I learned from the forum gazebo 55 is the only gazebo that does not have "whales" or sandbags in the water, but it is surrounded by a rock wall. Faisanes is where Bre was married, so you can look at her pics. It is really wide open and beautiful as well but the gazebo is not that tall.

I think you can only search through Advanced Searching. Try that.
Yep- I also believe it was the Casita's Gazebo -I had orginally booked that location, but was told it could, at most, 10 guests and was right up against the sidewalk bc of hurricane damage.
I don't have anything to really add to nolaroy's post- hehe-- she covered it! Just agreeing! I think the big difference between the 2 is the small stone wall at Gazebo 55, and the sand bags at Faisanes...
  9. It's pretty obvious that it's not Matt and Sol that have acted unprofessional- but Karisma. I know Matt and Sol are incredible photographers and just wish I had the budget to have them at my wedding!

I have sent many emails to Karisma and made some phone calls- as well as had my TA, from destinationweddings.com- also has made phone calls. I only hope they see how much they are hurting their reputation and eventually, their profit- by adding such unreasonable policies.
