  1. Thanks for the replies from those who have actually been there. We're having issues getting any wedding package pricing from Iberostar Punta Cana or Bavaro. Sunscape was on top of it but it seems much more difficult to find the information for the Iberostars and our TA is pretty useless. Sounds like something should be booked this week regardless as my FI is beginning to be quite stressed over this decision.
  2. We've narrowed it down to the Iberostar Punta Cana or Iberostar bavaro or one of the sunscapes.... really leaning towards IB PC and wondering if anyone thinks the extra cost of the bavaro is truly worth it?
  3. Thanks everyone. I agree with the whole attitude suggestion. Just like in the rest of life, it's what you make of it not what it makes. We'll definitely check into the insurance area and the alternate sections but it sounds like we're going to move forward with the date.
  4. Since you brought up photographers... You think they would classify friends that are at the wedding, staying at the same resort (who happen to be photographers) as outside photographers? My thinking was that if they are staying there and invited to the wedding, they shouldn't be able to contest it.
  5. Glad to hear it. Sometimes a little risk can go a long way. I'll be watching the area this September for a little reinforcement.
  6. What does everyone think of doing a wedding mid-September in Riviera Maya? I know it's not the ideal time, but due to a million other events it seems to work out nice date wise. I was just curious of what others thought. TIA
  7. Thanks for the advice, I'll do what I can to pop it in there.... Twinkletoes, beautiful boxer, we have 1 yr old fawn boy and love him more than anything!
  8. It's definitely different to be in a forum of all women, but I think forums are great to learn the real truths! Now that I've had some time to do my own research and force my fi to browse around, we(really she) has gotten to narrow down what we're looking for in a place in Riviera Maya. It seems as if the huge resorts that are more like towns are out. We're looking for more of a cozy atmosphere that has at least 2 bars, a good WC, nice staff, and nice enough rooms for mostly simple guests. Like everyone else mostly, we want to stick around $1,000 for our guests. Right now she's looking at the Reef Playacar and the Grand Oasis.
  9. Hello to All. My fiance Biz (Elizabeth) and I are just getting into this whole destination wedding planning phase. THere's a wealth of info on here! We're planning to go somewhere in Riviera Maya next year once I scan everyone's one input.
