  1. Hi Everyone!!! I am also getting married at the Imperial Suite 5/28/08. After reading all the posts, there seems to be some mixed procedures down there depending on who you work with...I have been confused from day one as to who does what at the FA. I was first put into contact w/ Susanna Arroniz. Then when she found out I wasn't going to book rooms (we aren't staying there) she told me I needed to talk to the Groups and Catering dept and she put me in contact w/ Sonia Jimenez. I have been working w/ her for the past few weeks and believe me...I ask a TON of questions! :0

She has been great so far. What I have found...is that as Tammy mentioned, they are slow at responding (I'm impatient) but when she does she answers all my questions. They are all very to the point too. Sonia has given me all the menus and bar info and all the pricing. She told me that if I wanted to book the Imperial Suite that I needed to talk to Franco Zuniga in reservations. So I have been working w/ him too. We finally picked the date this week and I emailed Franco and told him and asked what we needed to do to book it! He said to just give him a credit card and he would be able to reserve the date. He said they wouldn't charge the card at all until we checked in next year!! (I don't know if this is normal?) He gave me a confirmation # and everything.

Then I emailed Sonia back (I have only been using email) and told her that we were a go and I need to find out what the process was for food and beverage and set up, etc... and if I need to set up a contract and deposit. She just told me that we could talk about it whenever I was ready and once we figure out what I want then we will write up the contact (again..I don't know if this is normal)??

So bottom line, if that one lady there is trying to get you to sign contracts and put deposits down...then I would say talk to Sonia and Franco for reservations (I can give you their emails).

    Michelle :)

  2. Hi Everyone!!!

I wanted to ask...for those of you who are getting married at a resort that doesn't have a WC and you are not hiring a WC on the side, how hard has it been to deal w/ getting the judge, blood work, etc...

    Thanks!

  3. Hi Jill...

I would appreciate any pictures you could send me?? We are getting married at the imperial suite next May.

Are you using a wedding planner?

I am working w/ Sonia at FA. She seems pretty good so far but I am under the impression that they don't have services to help w/ the other vendors or day of coordination?

    Michelle

  4. Can I ask how much Maye is charging and what her fee includes??

I checked out Dreams and we are actually going to stay at Dreams...but for me the white gazebo wasn't my favorite and Yessica couldn't provide me with too many other locations.

Fiesta Americana doesn't have a coordinator..only to choose the spot and food.

  5. Hi...

I am trying to plan my wedding at the Imperial suite for May 2008!

I would love to have any advice you can give!

Also, did you work w/ a wedding planner? I know the fiesta americana didn't really have anyone that did stuff besides book the location and food there.

Did you hire an outside planner to get all your vendors and stuff and coordinate day of activities or did you do it on your own??

BTW: Your pictures are wonderful!!! :)

    Michelle

  6. Hello Everyone!

My name is Michelle and I stumbled across this site last night and I'm so excited! I am trying to plan my wedding for May 26, 2008 at the Fiesta Americana Imperial Suite!

There is alot of information and questions...I keep coming up with questions and it's so good to be able to talk to all of you who have either had your wedding in cabo or are planning one there!

My first major question to anyone out there is are you using a wedding coordinator outside of the hotel? I have been talking with Lola Del Campo from Fiestas Los Cabos and I haven't commited yet but she has been great and helpful. I just didn't want to spend the money. This wedding is already costing more than we wanted to spend. However I really think it's necessary because she will handle EVERYTHING, including negotiations and all. So she wants $1650 fee and I think it's worth it but didn't know if any of you went on your own and booked vendors and if you had much luck w/ that.

Any advice would sure help! :)

    Thanks,Michelle Carlevato
