August in Cabo & San Jose Catholic Church

Hi Y'all--- Does anyone know when the hottest time of the day is in August? I am getting married in San Jose Catholic Church and I read on someone's post that the church does not have AC. Fr. Juve is really hard to get in touch with, but we are reserved for 12:00 pm b/c I was thinking that might make it better in terms of hotness. If anyone can make any suggestions, that would be awesome. I can change the time if I need, but I am worried the church is going to be really hot and I will be a sweaty mess!!! Any help is super appreciated!

Hi Megan,

I got married August 9th in Cabo, and we did a noon ceremony inside the church with the priest we flew down with us before we did our 6 pm ceremony on the beach with all our guests. It's true there is no AC inside the church, and the few fans inside BARELY work...honestly they didn't make a difference at all. During our quickie ceremony inside the church (literally just a little welcome and then straight to the vows, we only had a handful of family there for the church part), we did not have any lights on. We only had the natural light coming through the windows. It was warm but not horrible. However, the second you step outside the church after the ceremony, it WILL be blazing hot.

After our little ceremony inside the church we took a few photos outside and then went directly back to our hotel. I had to shower again only because it was so hot outside when we left the church. The town square area is much hotter than down by the resorts on the ocean. Feel free to PM me with any questions about the church!

Hi Maura,

Thank you so much for this info! We are also flying down our priest because after I read your debacle my fiance made the firm decision that we are flying our priest down because it will just take off a ton of stress. I just asked Padre if we could make the ceremony time at 5:00 because I really want to get good pictures in my dress outside the church. My dress is not really heavy material, but standing around in the heat won't help me either. Do you think that it would be hotter then or at 12:00? I really want to get pictures outside the church but not if its ridiculous hot. Were you able to get dresses at the churhc too or did you have to wear it there? Thank you soooooo much and congrats on your wedding. You look absolutely amazing!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
