  1. When you book the DJ they send you a spreadsheet to fill out. I listed numerous songs that I wanted included. The DJ did an amazing job. I think he only played one song that I didn't like.
  2. I didn't see any children in any of the bars at NOW, but that doesn't mean they weren't allowed inside. I honestly don't know. There is always the main plaza area at NOW to meet too. There were children all over the plaza. Except for the 6 rooms we booked for our immediate family, everyone else booked on their own. Some booked directly with resort, some used a travel agent. Are you financially obligated to have a certain number of rooms booked through the travel agent? I put together welcome bags for our guests and they were a huge hit. It was a lot of work, but I think my guests really appreciated it. Personally, I think doing a group excursion will be hit or miss. It is a nice sentiment, but unless you know that all of your guests will actually want to do it, it could be a waste of money. I get horrible motion sickness and I know many other people do too, so I wouldn't do anything on the water. Just my opinion.
  3. I think planning a group excursion is a bit much, honestly. I just returned from my wedding week at Secrets and most people just wanted to relax at the pool or beach. It's hard to please everyone with something like excursions. We did a "rehearsal" dinner at La Riviera the night before the and afterwards most people ended up at the casino or other bars. We also did a farewell breakfast at La Riviera the morning after the wedding. To get people to meet we did a "meet and greet" at Rendezvous bar 2 days before the wedding. Some people didn't get there until the day before and that was their loss. You can't please everyone. One of the groomsman was literally there less than 48 hours.
  4. I am having a mild panic attack thinking about all of the things I need to bring to Punta Cana for the wedding. Has anyone shipped a box of stuff beforehand? Are there any restrictions on what you can send? If I were to send anything before hand, it would be a lot of the welcome bag stuff (tote bags, travel sunscreen, travel aloe, ponchos, travel advil, travel purell, pepto, etc. I know I am not the first person to include such items in the welcome bag, so I know there is a way, just having a panic attack about what D.R. will allow in. Anyone have any experiences with this?
  5. Thanks for the detailed review!!! Lots of great points. I will be emailing Pastor Risk ASAP. I had a question regarding your photography choice, if you don't mind me asking. Why didn't you elect to use the photographer that came with the package for before ceremony and reception? Did you bring your decorations with you on the plane or did you ship them ahead of time. Between the dress, the welcome bags and welcome stuff, and decorations, I don't think I will have any room for anything else! LOL.
