I have noticed if I CC my TA she gets back super quick. I have some info on the wedding locations and ceremony set ups if you would like I can email them to you. We were just there in July and met a couple that was getting married there that weekend. She did not get all her details finished up till the week of the wedding. We are just doing the symbolic ceremony and getting legally married at home in Texas. I was not about to let someone poke me with a needle in Mexico. lol

We just got back from SMB for our site visit and completely fell in love with the resort! I can not wait for May 2014!!! I honestly have nothing bad to say about our trip, the food, drinks and service were great and they always had some sort of activity going on.

We are getting married May 16, 2014!!! We have got the date set and signed the contract but have not done anything else yet. We are going in a few weeks and actually meeting with Cecilia and our Travel Agent, so hopefully I will find out more and get everything taken care of then. I know we are wanting to do the beach ceremony, but not 100% on where we want the cocktail hour and reception. I know you are counting down the days and so am I, it can't get here quick enough!

Mexico is fine as long as you are at the resorts or the touristy areas, we went to Cancun last summer and had no issues. Maroma Beach is one of the best beaches too! We have been to Hard Rock in Punta Cana and like it but its has a completely different atmosphere from Santuary. We were just at Sanctuary in March and loved it! I hope they don't change to much of the resort. There is an Excellence resort in Punta Cana that is suppose to be nice, but have heard its not as good as the one in Playa Mujeres. I have also heard that Eden Roc @ Cap Cana is suppose to be great but not sure if it will be closed as well. TripAdvisor is my go to for resort reviews, it always helps us when we are looking for a new place to go.

Hate this for all of y'all but I'm glad we switched to another resort before finding all of this out. If any of y'all like Mexico you should really look into Secrets Maroma Beach. We were looking at 3 different resorts, Sanctuary being one of them and then Excellence Playa Mujeres. We have ended up using a Travel Agent and she helped us find Secrets Maroma and have been very pleased with the way things are going right now. We are going in July to meet with her and the coordinator at the resort.

What is the best way for us to book with our guest, thru the resort or thru a travel agent? I mentioned something to the resort about getting a special group rate and they said something about talking with a travel agent. I really didn't want to go thru one but if that is whats best I will. What are y'alls opinions?

So I just got engaged at Sanctuary and I love the idea of getting married where he proposed. Would love to see how everything worked out for your wedding. Its such a beautiful resort, and love the idea of getting married over in the ocean club area. Hope everything turns out perfect!
