  1. Have you been talking with Nyoka? I met her last week and she's very nice! She's looking into a lot of different options for us since I asked her a LOT of questions. I'll send you some of the pictures I took of the venue - I love it! The pavilion is right on the beach, with easy access to the bar and to all the rooms. We also went and looked at the high-rises on Palm Beach and we're definitely glad that we decided to go with Manchebo. It's a lot more crowded on Palm Beach, and the resorts are so huge that it takes awhile to walk from the lobby onto the beach. The beach area is also a lot smaller than Manchebo. Much more room on Manchebo beach! That's funny that you have to move your wedding date because of Superbowl! SB is very important to men! Also, I found this blog yesterday, and a couple got married at Manchebo on 12/12/12. Their pictures are great and it shows off the venue really well: http://www.benkanephoto.com/blog/2013/01/manchebo-beach-resort-spa-aruba-destination-wedding/ Anyway, i'll PM you soon with all the pictures I took!
  2. For those of you who are going barefoot on the beach, and then wearing heels at the reception, how did you get your dress altered to fit both heights? Our ceremony will be on the beach, but our reception will be in a pavilion right next to the beach, so I'll have to wear heels there.
  3. Hey Emily! Congratulations on your engagement! This is my first post too!! I've actually also picked the Manchebo Resort for our May 3rd 2014 wedding, but like you, I've had trouble finding posts/threads here about actual weddings at Manchebo. From all the research I've done though, it does seem like Manchebo is in an ideal location: it's right on Eagle Beach which is a lot more private than anywhere on Palm Beach. I am actually heading to Aruba next week to meet with the wedding coordinator at the resort and already have my list of questions for her. We will also be meeting with the florist and DJ there as well. Apparently, the chef doesn't come in until dinner time since the restaurant he operates doesn't open for lunch, so we have made reservations at the French steakhouse at Manchebo so that we could taste the food and hopefully meet with the chef as well. I've also arranged for a hair appointment for the hair salon that is right across the street from there. I forget what it's called but it's supposedly located at the Alhambra mall, which is a 2-min walk from Manchebo. If you'd like, I can let you know how my visit goes next week! Sophie
