  1. I'm going through something similar. I did not realize the wedding group amenities only apply if your guests all book with the same travel agent. So half my guests booked with the TA and the other half directly with the hotel. Basically I'm not getting any "wedding amenities" and have to pay for my reception. If my wedding was not a few weeks away I'd have told this resort I was canceling. It's very disappointing.
  2. My wedding is one month away at Moon Palace. Maria is my coordinator and as of now, I have no idea what to expect. I don't know if I should email one of the other coordinators as I've seen suggested on here. I have a few questions-I have 31 guests (including me and the groom) and half booked with a travel agent, the other half directly at the resort. Will I get the group booking perks, like free nights and such? or is that only applicable if they all book with the same person? Also, 6 of our guests are not staying at the resort so we will need guest passes. They are $91? Also, I would like a private reception, but not sure I want to pay $50 per person/per hour. Has anyone else come across this? We wanted to do a destination wedding to save money and stress, but it seems like we will end up paying as much as we would have in the states if we have to pay extra for the reception, rehearsal dinner and such. I am staying optimistic but if we had not already paid for our room and flight I would cancel with the resort. My whole experience so far has been awful. Hopefully I am wrong and it will turn out great because all the photos I have seen are amazing. Help! :-)
  3. HI all, I am one month away from our wedding. So excited. We are getting married at Moon Palace. Any suggestions for welcome bags for our guests? Is there anything that I can not get through customs?
  4. I am getting married the week after you and have nothing set! I had Maria as my coordinator so maybe I should try Daniela.
  5. My wedding is 1 month away and I have nothing set yet. My planner is Maria and she seems to be not very ogranized. Luckily I'm very laid back so I am ok with showing up to the resort and finalizing everything. A few questions/concerns...we have 31 guests booked (including myself and groom) and 6 of those are not staying at the resort. We had about half book with a Travel Agent and half directly to the resort. So I am completely confused if the group benefits apply to us, since they were not all booked together. I also wanted a private reception, but not sure I want to pay $50/per person as I was told it would cost. The whole point of having a destination wedding was to avoid stress and it was supposed to be easy and less expensive. Now, with adding the private reception and what we have paid for our room (and possibly not getting the free nights with the group benefits) we are going to pay what we would have in the states. Any advice would be so welcome and helpful :-) I do have to say all the photos I have seen look amazing.
