  1. Hi, As far as I know that is the only way to get the groom and groomsmen over to Las Caletas early. I got married last November and my husband, his three groomsmen and our photographer came over from Boca de Tomatlan. They didn't have to pay anything to go over with the staff but from Nuevo Vallarta you are looking at over an hour drive, we were staying at the Barcelo which is close to Boca so it wan't bad. Another thing to keep in mind is that there is no where for the groom and groomsmen to get ready prior to the ceremony so they have to wait for the people from the day excursion to leave the spa area where they give massages before they can get ready and this area is right beside the bridal suite, which means they may be standing around for an hour or two. Having that said I'm am so glad that they came over early because those were the only pictures we have in the day light and they are by far my favourite. In November expect it to get dark immediately after the ceremony, really really dark. You will not have time to do any pictures that capture the beauty of the beach or jungle area unless you do them early or start the ceremony early. Just something to keep in mind Good luck with all your planning! This photo was taken right after our ceremony (Nov. 21, 2012) to give you an idea of how dark it will be.
  2. I would also suggest getting the DJ. We decided to get one last minute and was really glad that we did. I thought the DJ was great and played all the songs we requested. He added some of his own but stuck to the style of music we liked. Otherwise you have to designate someone from your group to handle the music all night. The DJ does play on the boat. You can give him a list of songs or types of music you want played for each part of the night and they will get it all for you.
  3. Hi, I'm not sure the exact size but would guess it is approximately 10 feet wide and 15 feet long?? At one point we had about 40 people slow dancing on it at our wedding. Denise or Blanca would probably be able to give you exact measurements. Here is a photo if that helps
  4. Thanks! You will really like MacMex. Here is a link to our full photo gallery if you would like to see more of their work: http://macmex.macmexphotography.com/kimberlybrodie Password: lascaletas
  5. Hi, You can check the expected sunset time of your wedding day at the site below: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=2143&month=2&year=2013&obj=sun&afl=-11&day=1 But remember at Las Caletas there is no electrical lights and you are far away from the city of Puerto Vallarta and all the resorts so it seems much darker there after the sun sets than it does when you are in town. -Kim
  6. Hi Ladies, I finally received my wedding photos and completed my Las Caletas review: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/adventure-weddings-las-caletas If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. Good luck to you all in the future and Happy New Year
  7. Hi Everyone, Just got back from my wedding at Las Caletas and honeymoon! The wedding was amazing and overall one of the best experiences of our lives Las Caletas was even more beautiful than I imagined and I wish I could do it all over because it went by way too fast. I am going to write a full review very shortly but wanted to wait so I can include some of my professional photos because it was so dark that most of the guest photos didn't turn out. Although it was the most wonderful day, there were a few problems throughout so I'll try to be critical in my review to save some of you from the same issues but don't worry you have made the right decision. I saw several resort weddings while I was down there for two weeks and although nice they can't compare to a Las Caletas wedding Promise more info coming soon! -Kim
  8. Hi Congratulations ! Just wondering if you hired the DJ? I'm getting married next week and decided to get the DJ last minute because I was worried about having to make one of the wedding guests be in charge of the music. I sent them a list of songs so hoping I don't have to worry about bringing down the music myself?? Thanks, KIm
  9. Hi, I'm getting married on Nov. 21, 2012 and just settled our contract with Las Caletas and we were charged $13.50 per person plus the $2 marina tax, so it is actually $15.50 US you are paying for transportation They have actually increased the prices for a lot of things since I was sent a price list in June 2012!
  10. Hi, there are some examples of previous weddings that have chosen to use the rustic wooden tables, chairs and wood table runners. Hope that helps
  11. Hi, No it doesn't cost more for the wooden chairs. I'm having the white garden chairs for the ceremony and using the wooden chairs with no chair covers for the reception and also using wooden planks for table runners instead of the fabric. I really like the rustic look
  12. Sorry, I'm not sure why that would happen? I have never had any problem viewing the photos but maybe the new wedding planners can help you access them because they are a really useful resource?
