  1. The $185 "Glamorous" package is listed on the PalladiumWeddings.com website, and it includes, hairstyle (not a trial, though), makeup, and classic mani/pedi. I just discovered the amazing Palladium Addicts! Wow, what an awesome resource! Spa prices seems a little crazy compared to the US, so I'm definitely going the DIY route. Thanks for the tip!
  2. In response...I found the pricing at this link: http://palladiumweddings.com/en/package.php?destination=5&package=6&tipo_paquete=wedding&tab=resort#extrasPanel The $185 "glamorous" package covers makeup, hairstyle, and classic mani/pedi. It doesn't include a trial hairstyle from what I can tell. Since I can paint my own toes, get a manicure for $25 or less at a local salon, and I'm doing minimal (if any) make-up....well, I'm just wondering if it's worth the expense to do my hair how I want it. I haven't figured out exactly what I want, or if my bridesmaids, stepmom, or mother-in-law could do it for me. I did find the link for spa prices HERE, if anyone else needs it. I didn't realize that the Renova Spa had their own website.
  3. My FI and I are getting married on June 21st, 2012 at 4 pm at Grand Palladium Jamaica/Lady Hamilton on the beach. We have about 20-25ish people coming, and we just got the very basic package...Sapphire I think. We're going to eat at the buffet afterwards, and probably dance at the night club after dinner. We have big families and enough people in our "crew" that we tend to take over when we go clubbing, so I'm not so much worried about "private" wedding events. I LOVE the idea of having a program or schedule of events. I know when I travel, I'm super obsessive-compulsive about every detail, so I'm guessing at least some of my guests are too. for some of my family, it's also the first time they are traveling internationally. Knowing where I'm supposed to be and when (preferably in advance) is a comfort. I'm planning to do a "bon voyage" bag that I'm giving to people before they/we leave. That way, I won't get charged the $2/room fee (insane!) and I'll know they will actually get to the right people. Including a program of some sort, resort map if I can get one electronically, the QR code to download the Palladium app, and contact info for myself or a designated bridal party member for questions and last-minute changes. I'm wondering if anyone is having trouble getting in contact with Omeshia the WC. I e-mailed a week or so ago, and haven't heard back. Granted, I'm used to a couple days (as stressful as that is to me), but this is a bit worrisome. I had asked if we could contact the pastor to e-mail him/her what we'd like for the ceremony. We're both Christians, so we'd like to have that be a specific focus, and we'd like the ceremony to be meaningful. We also have some readings we'd like our friends/family to do, and we want to talk to the pastor about how that will fit. So far no response. On another note, has anyone found a price list for the spa? I'm trying to decide if I should get a massage at GP or wait until we go to our honeymoon resort (Couples San Souci). I'd also like a general idea of what it would cost to have my hair done there, or if I should just ask my bridesmaids and stepmom to help me do it myself. I've never been one to wear makeup EVER, so the little I'm wearing, I'm going to do myself. I don't want the $185 package to get the whole she-bang. Honestly, I'll get my nails done in the states for a lot less I think.
  4. Hi All, First off these forums have been extremely helpful with our wedding planning! We've been looking into the possibility of an Excellence Punta Cana wedding and realized that their FAQ requires that the bride and groom be there 3 days before the wedding. I also noticed that Dreams in DR has the same requirements. I was pretty sure that DR only requires you to be there 24 hours before your wedding. We want to get legally married in DR, possibly in June 2012 but we don't want to be there 3 days in advance. Are these hard rules set by the resorts or are they just suggestions for the resorts to cover themselves? Is there a good reason to be there 3 days in advance? Does anyone have any success or horror stories with showing up 24 hours before? Thanks in advance for any help with this!
