  1. Janet, thank you so much for your kind words. Needless to say, your wedding pics were absolutely stunning, and your day looked perfect! Trivera 5521, we had to pay an 'outside vendor' fee to the resort. I think it was $110. It still came out to much cheaper than what the resort photographer was charging! Jodie, we stayed for 5 nights, and our hotel bill was $1370, so it was about $274 a night. I think it really depends on the time of year that you go... good luck with planning!
  2. Hi ladies, I haven't posted here often, since I got so caught up with everything, but I really appreciated reading everyone's input before my wedding! I was married on November 3rd at the Paradisus, and it was wonderful. My husband and I talk about it all the time, and realize that it was everything we wanted it to be. We had our ceremony on the beach, and our reception was moved to the Gabi Club due to rain. I just wanted to post to recommend our photographer. We used Jorge Allocco, who I found while searching online. I didn't want to use the hotel's photographer, since it seemed very expensive, and I noticed they were the same people who walk around on the beach trying to get you to take a picture with a bird. Jorge was awesome! He was inexpensive (about $500 for 125 pictures), extremely professional, and spoke English very well. We were so happy with our pictures, and everyone who looks at them tells us how beautiful they are! I attached a couple pictures. I would recommend Jorge to anyone getting married anywhere in the DR. Good luck, and happy planning!
  3. Janet1480, you are welcome to stop by the wedding! Hopefully it will all be going well. Another question- are you ladies wearing heels for the ceremony? My mom suggested wearing flats, but I'm only 5'1. I don't want to sink into the sand, but I don't want to fall over in front of my guests. My first fitting is coming up soon, and I need to have my shoes by then!
  4. I'm getting married on November 3rd- we'll be getting there on the 1st, and staying through the weekend. I can't believe summer is almost over and November is coming so soon! Deesanders33, thanks for the info! I took a look at the picasa photo link, and I think the beach set-up will be sufficient. What are you ladies doing for welcome bags for your guests? My mom wants to start getting supplies, but I'm not sure how much stuff should go in them. Thanks again!!
  5. Hello, This is my first post on this site, but I have been reading faithfully for the past few months. I got engaged in March, and we will be getting married in November (only 3 months- ahh!) I want to thank everyone for being so open and helpful about their experiences with planning and executing the wedding. It has helped calm my major anxiety! I chose the Chill out Chic package, and we will be having our reception poolside. I have a couple questions, and would love some input. Has anyone had a reception poolside? Would we need additional lighting? Also, did anyone use the resort's centerpieces? We were thinking of bringing our own, but I don't know if it would be more expensive to lug all of the pieces down with us. Finally, with the ceremony on the beach, is it a good idea to get the additional beach floral decor? Or is the basic set-up nice enough on it's own? Thanks!!
