  1. Yes you can rent the disco, the only thing is you can only have a private party at the disco till 10:30 because then they have to open it for the guests at the resort at that time.
  2. This is my breakdown total for the whole wedding. Keep in mind I had a lot of guests and there were extras that we absolutely wanted. Expenses for the wedding at the resort $300 Beach party with dj, lights & bar $300 Ceremony decor - there were drapes, aisle runner, white chair covers, if you want ribbon on your clairs, floral decor $825 for the the biggest wedding package they have. I can't remember the name of package. It was supposed to be $1500 but they deduct $675 if you decide not to do a legal marriage. We did an exchange of vows and we had Ariana as the officiant. No of your guests will know the difference We decided to get our marriage license here before the actual wedding in Punta Cana. Since I had too many guests for El Marlin that's why we went with El Paris. (this restaurant is in the main resort building and they don't allow wedding receptions/parties past 11pm). We chose menu # 3 and it was excellent. Then the extras: $1850 Caribbean Emotions Photo/Video. Worth every penny. This one was one of their bigger packages. $1000 El Trono (don't get scared with this dollar figure) Since I had a lot of guests and went with El Paris, its bigger than El Marlin. I had tall beautiful centerpieces on every table. Lots of candles, extra bouquets for my bridesmaids, extra bouteniers (groomsmen, my dad and his dad), corsages (our moms) I had extra florals in the ceremony. It all depends on what you want. I know people who spend under $2k and they're completely happy with their selections. I had some extras that I really wanted. A wedding like this in Florida where I live at a beach resort would have costs so much more (abt $30k-35k for 80 guests). Spending $5k was great for me and my budget. It looked like a wedding you would only see on TV. It was breathtaking and beautiful. I wouldn't change a thing
  3. Hey Alexsbabe....hire the dj from the resort. They're wonderful and they're reasonably priced. Bring your IPOD just in case there's something the dj may not have. In all honesty they're up to date with music even with what we listen to here in the states. Our original plan was to have the reception/dinner at the Marlin but it holds up to 60 people and we ended up with 85 guests. We did not think this many people were going to the wedding. So that's why I had the dinner/reception at El Paris till abt 11pm and then added the beach party afterwards.
  4. Hi Everyone. The info that beb5433 posted is correct. I called them directly. I did not email them. Rosa Marte is the owner and she is wonderful. Great service and she will pick you up at the resort. She took us to her flower shop the day before the wedding and her team catered to our every need. If she did not have the right color that you need she will make sure to get it for you, she had ours painted. It was awesome. You do not have to use the day passes for the florist, whether you choose to go with El Tronco or whatever vendor the resort uses. You will however have to use the day passes for the videographer and photographers. Shop around for videographers/photographers. The resort will have packages too but I decided to go with Carribean Emotions. I found better prices for the photo/video package. They were great and the pictures are gorgeous. They too have different packages to choose from. I will tell you, make sure you reserve your photographer/videographer in advance. Especially if they're really good. They book really fast. The cake - I believe there are 2 cakes to choose from and it was delicious. You can bring in your cake topper but I opted for florals to go with the rest of the decor. The beach party - this included a bar/bartender, dj, lights. I believe this was an extra $300 Dollars. Its your private party so no one (other resort guests) should be intruding. It's held in the ceremony area. You'll have tables, chairs, beach loungers. Its really nice. Time to get together and keep drinking and partying. The DJ has really good music too. They generally have everything. With me being dominican and my husband is Colombian we had what we love the most....Merengue, Bachata, Salsa & Cumbia. But like I said they have everything. Its the same DJ's that are in the disco at the resort. Everyone catered to our every need and made our wedding so special. If any of you need more info feel free to email me at [email protected] I know what you are all going thru and know that the more info you get its better. Feel free to contact me or post a message on this forum. I usually check it periodically. Good luck to all of you
  5. Hi. We went to El Tronco. Wonderful people there. The owner picked us up at the resort. And talk about great service.....they put centerpieces together right on the spot. I can forward you the info if you'd like. The resort gives you the option of having a beach party. If you have the reception in El Marlin they will let you have the reception till midnight. I had my reception in El Paris because it's bigger. And I could only keep the reception there till 10:30 because that restaurant is in the main resort building on the 1st floor. They don't want parties disturbing the peace. So after 10:30 we all headed out to the beach (ceremony area), had a DJ and full bar with bartender and kept partying We had an awesome time.
  6. Hi, Just had my wedding at Barcelo Punta Cana (Ariana is the wedding coordinator there). Everything turned out beautiful and I was so happy with everything. As far as the flower selection, more than likely Ariana will email you pics via email but as far as any final selections she will do that with you when you go to Punta Cana for your wedding. We met with her 3 days before the wedding to finalize everything. I personally went on my own with the flowers. I had over 80 people go to the wedding. When we originally planned this wedding we honestly thought maybe 30-40 people would attend at the most. So we had the ceremony, then cocktail hour, afterwards a reception with dinner buffet. I went to a local florist in Bavaro (only about 15 minutes away from the resort and the owner of the florist picked us up and took us to her shop sho we can pick everything). They have great prices. But I decided to go to a florist because I know Barcelo would have charged a lot more for everything I ordered. Ariana will show you really nice arrangements and bouquets. We ordered floral arrangements to decorate the ceremony area, like 12 centerpieces, our head table was decorated, the main entrance to El Paris (resturant we rented for the reception) was also decorated with floral arrangements, candles, flower petals, etc. Afterwards we had a beach party with the dj, bar/bartender and opted for lights instead of the bonfire. It was so hot when we got married late last month. The lights were cool because it felt like an outdoor club/party. If you're having something small I would stick with what Arianna has but if you're having a big wedding I would recommend going to a florist and they will work with Ariana too to make sure everyone is on the same page.
  7. This is the email to get in touch with Ariana at Barcelo Punta Cana - [email protected] Hope this helps.
  8. Hi. We are also getting married in Barcelo Punta Cana on June 25th. We're very excited. We stayed at that resort last year in May and have no complaints. The service was great and we really loved the resort. We have been in touch Ariana. As you get closer to the date you will communicate a lot more with Ariana. We are not using the resorts photographer. We did a lot of research and decided we are going to use Caribbean Emotions for the the video and photography. Reasonably priced and will be saving money compared the resort photographer. I am waiting on quotes for the decor/floral arrangements from El Tronco. From the sounds of it, calling them is better than emailing them. Overall, we chose Barcelo Punta Cana because we really enjoyed our stay there last year. They are reasonable with their prices compared to other resorts. So far we have 65 confirmed guests going to the wedding and that number may keep increasing. Its a nice resort for everyone - families, couples & singles.
