  1. Just beginning to plan our wedding for 2012. Can't decide between getting married in Bermuda or here in the UK. Only planning a small wedding as both sets of parents no longer around and we'd be as happy with a few close friends as a big party. I'm still concerned that some of the people we really want there won't be able to afford to go all that way. I'd love to hear how and why people made the decision to commit to getting married away from home. I'm stuck!!
  2. Some pictures would be great and amazingly kind of you! We got engaged at the end of last year and then my Dad died, so we've not felt like doing any planning until now, So I'm now buying all the wedding magazines and beginning to enjoy it! I hope your planning is fun too. We want a small, fairly informal do and are planning for just us and 4 or 5 other couples who are close friends. Don't have any fixed ideas about venues etc yet, but current favourite is to spend the week before the wedding in Hamilton - we stayed at the Royal Palms last time and loved it - just for ease of access to everything, and then go to Watercolours for the night before the wedding and a 'honeymoon' week. So dinner the night before could be at the restaurant at the Royal Palms (I hope it's still good!), but I'd like to have the reception at a restaurant with a nice terrace and view for drinks and dinner. What do you think? Thanks again. MR
  3. We are just beginning to think about a destination for our wedding next year, and Bermuda is top of the wish list at the moment. I'd love to pick your brains, please. We have visited before and loved the fact that Bermuda is so laid back but also very traditional - perfect for an old fashioned at heart English girl and Irish fiance for a wedding we think! We also want to get married in a church, and it's been hard to find destinations where that is possible, so another good reason to pick Bermuda. So first challenge is picking a pretty church. We visited the Cathedral but that is too big, we loved St Peter's in St George as it's so unusual but want to stay in Warwick so that's a bit far away. I can't find any pictures of the inside of St Mary's in Warwick and was wondering if you had ever been inside and what it is like? I've spent the last 2 evenings trying to find out and failing miserably, so sorry to be asking such a specific question, but I've given up trying to find anything online from another source. Many thanks.
