Thanks for the input. I am now on my third wedding coord. Autumn. she has been very helpful but I am not pleased when I get no's from them when other people get no problem's. she said I could not have any input on the play list so I was going to remove my dj request. I will now keep it as long as I get to choose my playlist songs. also I have gone through the entire thread for PDC but as it is now 2010 some things have changed so it's actually not always the best place to look for current info. I am now having an issue where as the wedding coordinator is saying since I want a french manicure and pedicure I have to buy this and I cannot give the one that comes with my package to my mother or a fam member. This really upsets me. I am paying for both sets of mani and pedis so why would I not be allowed to give it to whom I choose? You would think with as much money as they make off us (I have a lot of guests coming) they wouldn't see this as a biggie? especially since I am paying for it. it's technically mine to use. has anyone else on this thread had this issue? I am trying to locate a number to call someone directly at the resort in the wedding dpt who can help me!

is he the DJ that playa del carmen uses for the weddings? Can I provide my own play list to be included as well as a do not play list? It's really the only thing holding me back from using a DJ as the MI coordinators said I will not have any say in the music played. so I didn't see the point in a DJ if I am paying for music I do not want to hear. I hope MI is wrong because the reviews sound good.

I looked extensively through the Royal Playa Del Carmen thread and did not see my questions answered. Does anyone have any pics of the centerpieces included in the packages? I purchased the Luxury wedding package and would like to see if I will be ok with what I get before purchasing extras. I would love to have these pics sent to me. [email protected] Also I have to have my wedding next door at the Gran Porto in the Gazebo and cocktail hour on the beach there. Long story there! Anyone seen the Gran Porto in person as well as the beach? Is the restoration project over, over there? I've heard great things about Royal playa where we are all staying and where my reception is being held, but I am worried about the ceremony and cocktail hour. Thanks!

I purchased the luxury wedding package and thought destination weddings were supposed to be laid back and easy. lol. anyone have the pics and info on the cakes that come with this package if so, my email is [email protected] as I would love to check this out to choose one. I can't get a response from the w.c. sigh. also I would like to book the dj that the hotel uses but directly through him to avoid the inflated cost. I've seen some brides mention doing this. anyone done this successfully and have any issues with the hotel trying to recoup a vendor fee? Also, does anyone know of a florist to use in the area for wedding party flowers? is there a vendor fee for this too? I am having issues finding one when I try to google a florist company in mexico. Since I am doing a symbolic ceremony (scared of an out of country blood test) will do civil ceremony soon here in states, can I bring someone to marry us? seems silly to fork out 400.00 for a symbolic ceremony for a minister. The "wonderful" Royal michigan wc ofc fired the girl who told me I had the royal gazebo booked for my wedding. Carole told me she should not have told me it was mine bc it was already booked so my only other option to keep my date and time was to use the gazebo at the gran porto next door. was so upset over it but already had invites out with 7.14 as my wedding date so had no choice. siude note: having awful time getting clear and specific answers back from the w.c ofc in michigan. Carole took over as my wc but she has been less than helpful. I've asked her for pics of cakes in package and still no answer. sigh.

Hi everyone!!! My name is Kristina and I am getting married July 14 2010 at Royal Playa Del Carmen. I am staying at Playa Del Carmen but actually doing ceremony next door at Porto in the gazebo as well as cocktail hour on Porto beach and then heading back to my hotel for a reception in the ballroom. I haven't seen any pics of receptions in the ballroom at Playa Del Carmen. I am only seeing on the beach. Does anyone have any links or info they could share on this. I would love to see some pics of an acutal wedding reception at the playa del carmen in the ballroom. I purchased the luxury package. Thanks!!!
