  1. Hi Shelley, Your no bother at all- I hope I can help by answering your questions. We did have our reception by the pool. Due to the wind they moved us back a few feet so we had cover over our heads- but still outside. We also paid extra-$13.50 per person to be outside (the ballroom came with the coral package). We brought our ipod and speakers too. We only used the speakers to listen to music in our room. The resort provided the plug in for the ipod for the ceremony and reception. We plugged our ipod in at the set up on the beach for our music for the ceremony. Then we plugged it in again at the reception site for dinner music, our first dance and to dance with our parents. Hope this helps you! Kaycee
  2. Hi Yes, we played music at the ceremony. They have an ipod pug in and a sound system set up with a microphone if you want it. There is a lot to choose from for the menus- however you do have to pick one for everyone. We had steak and shrimp for the main course and a cucumber lettuce salad and seafood soup. It was all really good. We did eat breakfast in bed together that morning then we went our separate ways till the ceremony. They have an ipod plug in for music at the reception too. We paid $45 per person for the snorkel trip and had the entire boat to ourselves. We had the guests pay their own way b/c we paid for the fishing trip which cost more. The ocean coral and turquesa are one resort. The Maya is about 15 min. down the road- we didn't go there but saw it when we passed by. The entertainment was hit and miss every night. But there was always something going on. My 3 bridesmaids were single and they all still had a great time dancing in the lobby and hanging out. But there is not a disco- that would be better- heard they were going to try and get one Hope this helps answer some of your questions.
  3. ok I'm back! We did go on excursions. We went to Tullum which was just as beautiful as all the pics look. But it is a long ride so I don't think I would do it again. The next day we had everyone on a catamaran for a snorkel tour- it was awesome we had the entire boat to ourselves and even grama Barb had a good time just relaxing on the boat. Then we went fishing- would have been good, but the waves were huge and a few people got sick. You can book all the tours right there in the lobby, and don't forget your in Mexico- Barter Barter Barter. There is nightly entertainment, just get an activities sheet from the lobby- it tells you what's going on everyday. One night we went to the cirque du soleil show it was really good. You only get 60 pics on the cd. The flowers were nice- bring pics to show Ana what you want. I had tikki torches with white tulle connecting them to form the aisle- simple but elegant. Sorry can't get any pics to upload?
  4. Hi Everyone, There are lots of questions to answer so I'm just going to dive right in. We got the Coral package $1500 for 20 peps. Because we brought our own officiate and did a symbolic ceremony Ana took $200 off the total. Then b/c we wanted the dinner reception to be outside by the pool all closed off to us, we paid $13.50 per person to have it there. She had said the normal price for that was $27 so she gave us half off. And due to the wind we were moved in under the hut instead of right next to the pool- it still worked nicely. The food was really good that night too. The beach is really beautiful but when the wind is blowing its the windiest place to be at the entire resort and the seaweed is not bad at all- they are always picking it up. Ana told me in the beginning that it would cost $400 extra to bring my own photographer so I didn't even look at that option. Which now that I know I might do different. We paid $770 for the photographer and got him as long as we wanted-nice. However, he really only took one or two shots of each pict. so if that one pic didn't turn out that was all we had. Not sure if he was doing this to get us out of the wind faster or if that's just the way he does it? He was really nice- Daniel. The photo books they give you are really cool but we had to pick 60 pictures that we wanted with our package and it was hard to decide when looking at all the pics- they are just on paper and really small. We were running late for dinner so we picked the 60 and then I thought we would come back and look at the ones on the computer. But the girls there were already printing out the 60 and putting them in the books-so that's just what I got. I sort of wish we would have tried to get all the pics. on the cd-that would have seemed like getting more of what we paid for. A plus is they are ready to go and take home the next day. My hair was so so, again just didn't really look like me- but everyone else seemed to like it. I think I'm really picky so it's hard to please me-ha. The lady that did my hair didn't speak very good english at all and they don't have hot curlers so she had to do it with a curling iron- took awhile. I didn't want to pay $25 per person for a rehearsal dinner so Ana got me a reservation for all of us at the buffet for free- but I thought we would have one big table set off out of the way- nope. We were in three circular tables right in the entry to get all the food. So we just adapted and gave all our gifts at the reception. I did get Ana to get us reservations one night- had to beg and plead- and we didn't get to go till 9:00 but we were all together at the Japanese. Other wise you have to stand in line the day of at 3:00 to get reservations. We did this a few times just switched people so no one had to do it more than once. The do have irons and boards in all the rooms- not sure about a steamer I did not need one- check with Ana. Got to go skiing now but I will come back later and keep going. Hope this is helpful for you all!
  5. Hi Everybody, It is Kaycee. I am back from my wedding at Ocean Coral Turquesa. We had a wonderful, awesome, great time. We are very worn out- 7 days of celebrating and keeping tabs on 24 peps on vacation is very very tiring- but definitely well worth it. The resort is beautiful and our room was upgraded- we loved it! The weather was really windy the entire week and very windy the day of the wedding. However we stuck it out and had the ceremony on the beach- just like we wanted-and no rain thank goodness! The pools are not heated and because of the wind we were not in the pools much- but they are beautiful and would be great if it would have been warmer. I am sure you all have questions for me so let em fly ad I will try to answer them as best I can. Ocean Coral & Turquesa is beautiful and we were very happy with everything- except the reservations at the restaurants are kind of tough for larger groups. The ala cart rest. are pretty small so we always had to break up into 2 or 3 tables to seat everyone at the same time- but at least we all went together. I had my hair and make-up done at the spa- she did ok? I didn't love it and was too late to try and change it. But I should have known better- I don't normally wear very much makeup and it just didn't look like me. But everyone else liked it so no big deal. Sorry starting to carry on. Bring on your questions!!!
