Mini Update

Legal Ceremony

Yesterday we got our marriage licence! Very simply process. Filled out the paperwork and submitted online; we printed it, signed it and walked into City Hall. All we needed to do was show government issued ID with a photograph, sign their copy and pay a $125 fee. It's valid for 90 days. Done!

We also confirmed our reservation for dinner that night. Great restaurant with delicious food about 10 minutes from our house.

Plan is to have our family over for "appetizers", have a surprise 10 minute ceremony and then head to the restaurant for some dinner, drinks and cake :)

All we have to do now is read through all the documents our officiant sent and pick the wording for the opening, readings, vows, ring ceremony and closing. We likely won't exchange rings and will keep things super simple. We have until the week before to send this back to our officiant so no rush at all.

Legal wedding date is March 26th, 2016!

Bathing Suits

I have a really tough time finding bathing suits - small girls, big(ish) lol booty. I can only buy bathing suits from stores that sell them as separates as I need an xs top and a medium bottom. I lucked out yesterday and found a perfect top and two bottoms from la vie en rose. I paid regular price for the top and one of the bottoms but the other bottoms I got on sale for $6.99. We were at Vaughan Mills yesterday and they had so many options - lots on sale too!

Anyone else have the same problem as me? Tops are my biggest problem and most often I get lucky at la vie en rose because they sell xs. Anyone have any suggestions for stores that cater to us small chested ladies? Thanks!

@@ashhtayy Sorry to hear about your registry issues!  Unfortunately not everyone has common sense.

Your rings are beautiful!  And love that you had them engraved :)  I know Col is going to, he actually was going to the other day and decided to wear it to the engraver rather than put in his pocket and risk losing... he didn't end up getting it engraved but went to get his hair cut and the barber was making small talk "oh are you married?" and he just had to play along so he didn't look like someone who is excited to wear his band lol

Your legal wedding is going to be so great!  I can't wait to see pics  :)

I cant help in the bathing suit department, I have bigger girls so my biggest issue was finding some strapless tops that hold me up.  I ordered some from Victoria's Secret during their sale, tried on in the store first and the ordered online.  A bit pricey still but I bit the bullet and they fit great and really hold me up!  They have really cute bandeaus that are cheaper because they don't have all the underwire and firm material like mine needed lol

Congrats on setting your legal ceremony date. An Easter weekend legal :) enjoy!!!

Have you tried Swim co? Have the opposite top problem as I have large girls but I find their suits are well made. Have different styles and sizes for all body types and they do have sales often so you can find a good deal.

Thanks ladies! The legal ceremony will be super low-key; definitely don’t want to take away from Mexico. And yes, Easter Saturday but only because we wanted to include Mike’s mom and nonna and they will only be here Wednesday to Wednesday so that is the only day we could do it. They’ll be super happy that they could be here for it :)

Story of my life – all busty ladies around me ;) I haven’t heard of Swim Co. but I will check them out now! I’ve also checked Victoria Secret but haven’t had much luck. Still time though!

Wow surprised you've never heard of them or seen them in your malls. They are for swim wear as Michael Kors is for hand bags! You'll pay more full price but they last a long time :) I bought my first one in 2013 and it's still going strong :)

@@calgarybride2015 just checked the site - they don't have any locations in Ontario! Just Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba - now I know why I haven't heard of them before! Looks like they ship but at those prices I don't think I could buy without being able to try on first. I don't have much luck buying clothes online because I vary so much from designer to designer. Next trip to Calgary I'll check them out though :)

So we got our groomsmen pants in from Cubavera today and Jesse tried them on. After shooting down my suggestion of wearing the Navy linen suit, he actually loves the look and feel of the pants and now wants me to order him his own Boys! If only he had listened to me in the first place, he would have his suit in hand already and just need it tailored!

Anyways, since you're still on the hunt for clothes, just thought I would share the positive feedback on this option. Here are some pictures - please ignore the pile of wedding crap on the floor, lol

@@krystalball thank you! We shopped around this weekend and found two linen suits - one at the bay and one at tommy bahama. Mike is now dead set on a particular blue that neither store carried so we are still on the hunt. I showed him Jesse's pants and he really liked them...but groomzilla neeeeeddsss a particular blue lol Thanks again for the feedback.

And too funny about Jesse now wanting them for himself. Hey, just remember when he said "everyone will wear whatever they have" and be grateful that's no longer the case lol It makes me laugh every time I picture all the guys wearing "what they have" on your wedding day. Thank you for sharing that story :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
