Secrets Capri Riviera - 2015 Wedding

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am in the process of planning a wedding in October 2015.  After much research I am 90% sure the Secrets Capri is the resort for us.  Some of the reviews have mentioned frustration with the on site wedding coordinators.  Has anyone recently wed here or in the process of planning a Secrets Capri wedding that could offer some advice? Did you use the on site vendors or find local ones?  Was there a fee for this? What types of perks did you and your guest receive? Finally did you plan with a travel agent or directly through Secrets? We will have about 20 attendees and are want a beach reception.

Thanks,

J

Congrats and welcome to the site! This is an excellent resource for planning a destination wedding, and the ladies are always willing to share tips and advice.

Have you looked at any of the forums, specifically for Secrets Capri? Do you have a travel agent yet? That is definitely recommended if only to take some of the stress from you when your guests start asking questions! Plus, you never know. There may be perks that you're entitled to for your group that only a travel agent would be aware of, and of course you want the best pricing available!

The only thing I've heard about Secrets Capri is that its an older resort and that there is a distinct musty smell in the rooms, plus they could use a facelift. I looked at this resort and really liked it. In the end we are going with another resort.

Good luck and happy planning!

I do have an travel agent but am hearing mixed reviews if it cheaper to use the agent or book directly with the hotel.  I heard heard some of the rooms have a musty smell and the beach isn't very large.  We are looking for a smaller adults only all inclusive in Rivieira Maya and trying to keep the budget to around $1500 per person.  I will check out the official thread as well. Thanks!

There is one other resort you have your TA look at for you. It's one that was one of my finals. I did manage at last to get it down to 3. Look at Ocean Maya Royale. It is a bit smaller, it's adults only. The price point might be around where you want depending on what time of year you're looking at.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
