X-Mas OOT bags

Recommended Posts

I was thinking of sending OOT bags/gifts with my invitations. I don't want to pack so much stuff, not that I plan on doing a ton of stuff for OOT gifts. Is anyone else doing this? Also, is December too soon to send my invitations for my May wedding? I thought it would be a nice x-mas gift too.

We may still have a smallish gift to bring with us to the resort for everyone, like shot glasses or tee shirts.

I think Kelly (Dragonfly) gave her OOT bags out prior to leaving for the wedding. I forget exactly how that worked. We sent our invites in April for our June wedding, but had sent std's asking for a rsvp in September and a reminder to rsvp in November. I don't think Dec. is too early because either way most of us end up having to track a few stragglers down for an rsvp.

I sent mine out in Late March/early April for a July wedding. We gave OOT bags at the hotel.

Kelly gave hers out at a party they had before they left, she couldn't have those plus all the luggage for her and her family it was just too much, but she said everyone brought their stuff on their own so I think as long as you let people know that its to bring to the wedding it would be fine, however I think sending them out in Dec. for a May wedding is way too early. I would say send them out in April. Think about how much can happen in that 6 months.

i have to say that having been a guest at a number of DW - i want not want to receive the OOT bag before the trip, especially months before. I remember Kelly's situation and with her children and everything else it made a lot of sense for her - she gave them out 1 week before the trip, in person and to everyone who was definitely going.

my advice is to give them out in mexico not withstanding some significant reason too!

Yeah, I suppose it is too early. Thanks, ladies.

I think now what I'll do is send the invite with the luggage tags I got at Michaels and then pack stuff to take down with us to Tulum for OOT bags.

Is it okay to combine the OOT bag with gifts for parents/attendants?

Since our group is pretty small I was going to give a small gift for coming out to everyone. Do I need to spread OOT bag, gift, and possibly favor out?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
