Hi Ladies! Im trying to decide between Destination wedding at Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe and Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort. They both seem like beautiful locations, but my travel agent is giving me a price of about $200 cheaper for my guests stay a 3 nights at Barcelo...so trying to decide if I should save my guests the money, or go for the nicer looking wedding package at Moon Palace. Anyone have suggestions or thoughts on this?!

I have no advice on one resort over another as I didn't price any of these resorts out.

Although I totally understand where you are coming from with respect to helping your guests out price wise.  Price point for our guests was HUGE in our decision and we would cross some resorts off the list SOLELY based on price.  We didn't want to price people out of coming to our wedding.

 

So I suggest you look at the overall cost for your guests.  What was your initial price point you thought would be reasonable to ask them to pay?  Does that extra $200 still fit well or does it really push the boundaries?  (ie, our price point was $1500, but we ended up booking for $1565.  Still well within a reasonable amount).  If you think the added $200 still makes the package reasonable, then I say go for it.  IF price point is that important to you -- if your guests price weighs on your mind, but isn't near the top of your list then I say just pick whatever one you and your fiance are in love with.

 

I know at the end of the day it is your wedding, but I think guests appreciate you consider their costs as well.  $200 isn't a terribly large number so you are probably safe either way.

My wedding is booked at the Barcelo in Riviera Maya. I did not really compare prices when booking (I have family who has stayed at this specific Barcelo and just absolutely loved it, so I went with this choice). The only thing with the Barcelo's is they do charge outside vendor fees. ($500 for photographer, $150 for make up/styling team, and $105/hr for outside DJ). I have chose outside vendors for all three of these choices. This resort is great though because it offers tons rooms with different prices which really helps our guests out. Any questions feel free to ask! My date is 5/15/2015!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
