Be Tulum: Not Enough Rooms? No Kids? What To Do!

Recommended Posts

Hello to all you DW experts. This is my first post on here, although I've been scouting all these forums for a few weeks when I get bored at work as I start to dream up a swanky destination wedding in Tulum circa October-ish 2015.

I'm pretty much smitten with Be Tulum, and it's right up our alley and matches our style. But I'm hesitant to get too set on it because it seems like I might need more than just 20 hotel rooms to accomodate all my guests.  Have others had this problem at Be Tulum? What's the biggest wedding size they can accomodate? And where did you suggest any guests to stay who either couldn't fit into the Be Tulum during your wedding or wanted something a little cheaper? I would be kinda' sad if everyone was really far away from where I was staying, so hopefully something close. Are there many villas around? Also, if we have all 20 rooms rented out, is the hotel gonna' be cool with allowing non-hotel guests to come join festivities or hang out at beach/pool before the wedding day etc?

Also, I see that their policy forbids kids under 12, which would be a problem for my crew. If we have all rooms rented, can this rule be bent? At the very least, I assume that it would be fine to bring the kids at least on the wedding day to all the events there, right?

Maybe I should be asking this directly to the hotel, but it sounds like everyone has to wait ages to hear back from these places, so I thought I'd just get started here since you ladies are the experts.

Thanks for all your help and looking forward to hearing some responses and getting pumped for our big day.

Tim

I can't speak for the resort itself but if it's a no kids under 12 resort they will NOT bend the rules. So you may need another resort - I'd have a hard time asking my family and friends with kids to stay elsewhere. They MIGHT allow kids for the wedding but I imagine it would depend where your wedding is and how private. Generally you can go over your 20 rooms if they are available. My tour agent held me 15 and I took like 20 and all was swell. Good luck.

Ps - your questions are suited for the general hotel itself not the wedding coordinator so maybe give them a quick call

The Beach Tulum accepts kids once you rent the whole space out and you can also rent out their sister property right next door Cabanas Tulum. We had looked into them when we were thinking of doing our wedding in Tulum but our party is too small. Now we' ll just honeymoon in Tulum :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
