Barcelo Punta Cana Wedding

Recommended Posts

My fiancé and I got married at the Barceló Punta Cana on March 3, 2104.  It was everything we had hoped it would be!  Ariana (the wedding planner) was very helpful - she answered all my emails very quickly.  We had a few special requests, such as having a 40 person group attend the Japanese restaurant for our welcome dinner, and she helped us make sure that happened.

Two of our guests were put in pretty bad rooms but the resort staff saw to it that they were put into better rooms (even upgrading them for no cost).  The hotel was beautiful! Don't listen to any negative reviews you may read online - some people are just WAY too picky.  The pools were clean, the food was amazing, the staff was friendly, and the beach was the nicest that we saw (we walked quite far down the beach in both directions.

As for our wedding - the florist did a fantastic job, the meal was delicious, the ceremony was exactly what we had wanted - short and sweet but still very nice.  We chose to have a private beach party afterwards which was SO fun!  We were sad to see that part of the evening end.

We hired Jorge Alloco as our photographer.  We couldn't have been happier with him.  He let us pay using paypal so we didn't need to worry about having a ton of cash with us.  He arrived on time (not Dominican time!) and got right to work.  He was very laid back and open to taking any specific pictures I wanted him to.  Jorge met with us two days after our wedding to let us choose our pictures.  Once they were chosen, he burned them on a disc so we had them before we left for home.  His work was absolutely stunning!  Everyone has complimented us on our pictures.  I've even had a few people say they look like they should be in a magazine!  Jorge's prices were extremely reasonable.  Our resort has a photographer that they like to have everyone use - and they fine you $200 if you don't use their photographer.  Even with the fine, Jorge was less than half the price of the resort photographer!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
