When we were there, we only saw the Riviera side. We hung out at the beach, did some paddleboarding, ate at the Beach Bistro and the pizzeria up near the Riviera pool, saw the Ochi Pool, walked the gardens. The floatie mat (the cement pad that's anchored in the water) was awesome and it was so nice to sunbathe on it haha Music was pumpin out of Jamie's Sports Bar, and the staff was having a blast with everyone. I was not happy we had to go :( I wanted to stay and explore.

My wedding planner is a certified Sandals specialist and she recommended either the Reef terrace gazebo or the Overlook Treehouse (http://cdn.sandals.com/sandals/v11/slideshows/resorts/sgo/media/large/slide-19.jpg) for the ceremony. We didn't see the Treehouse but it looks very pretty!

I know Grande Riviera is a little far from the airport, but it seems like it has something for everyone and no one is on top of one another unless you want to be. There's 15!! restaurants which is crazy.

Glad you guys had fun and didn't want to leave. Lol. We are staying on the Riviera side and cannot wait. I hadn't thought about the Overlook Treehouse, it looks so pretty! We may have a tough time deciding on our ceremony location. Haha

That's pretty much why we chose the Grande Riviera. We knew this would be everyone's vacation so we wanted to make sure there was something for everyone to enjoy. Our only complaint (and it's not really a complaint, lol) is that the beach is small. :( But I figured we'll be hanging by the pools most of the time anyway.

You sound exactly like me!!

Yeah the beach is small, but if that's super important to people, they could always spend a couple nights at Grande Riviera for the wedding and then a couple nights at, say, Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay (near the airport anyways so it's not like it's out of the way). I might suggest that to my parents who will be visiting outside the US for the very first time. Might give them the "full" experience.

Haha! Great minds! ;)

That's a good idea! My fiance's parents are big beach walkers so I'm curious to know what they are going to think. Although they knew it had a small beach from the get go! Lol! I'm hoping the resort will be enough scenery for them to walk in the mornings once they get tired of walking back and forth on the beach. Haha.

There's lot of gardens to explore. And on the manor side, they could walk around up to the butler suites to explore... it's a pretty big complex..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
