Anyone getting married in Saint Lucia and looking at St. James's Club Morgan Bay?

Hi Tjjam23!  YAY--another St. Lucia bride-to-be!!  I am looking into a St. Lucia wedding in Nov 2015.  Unfortunately, neither my FI or myself have been to St. Lucia (but planning on taking a trek this fall)  Currently, I am trying to decide between St. James and Windjammer to have ceremony and have my guests and us stay.  What have you heard on St. James so far?  Tripadvisor gives mostly good to excellent reviews, but a few of the not-so-good have me slightly concerned. (older crowd, not as nice as the online pamphelets make it out to be, crappy food...etc.)  Temper this info knowing you cannot please everyone all the time--so taking it with a grain of salt considering more than 75% are great reveiws.

Are you planning on having you and your guests stay there?  Age range and what are you looking for in terms of ceremony and location? Think this is the best area for most midrange hotels and the property looks pretty.  Also, Gros Islet seems to have a decent amount of stuff to do off property should you guys stay there and want to adventure.  Happy to share whatever other info I have gathered on St. Lucia with you!

ps: Also just spoke with Wright Travel agency the other day and Kristi was incredibly helpful if you need travel advice or ideas on where you should look.

@@chazel. I am planning to get married at St.James July 2015. The wedding coordinator so far seems to respond fast with emails so you should try to reach out to her to help with your decisions. If you go on YouTube you can see past weddings. I think I should have a little under a 100 guest and my hope is to have them all stay on the resort. Due to the amount of guest I hope to have my wedding at the garden gazebo. They do have a beach gazebo but the area is too small for my amount even though they said if I really want that area they can see what they can do. Based on YouTube video the garden area looks lovely. The majority of my guest will be over 30 but I do have some elderly guest. I heard the resort has many hills which I'm nervous about for my elderly guests.

Here are some cost they shared with me:

$200 for steel pan for the wedding ceremony

$800 for the dj if you have a reception

$8 or $14 for chairs

Hope this post helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
