Any Iberostar Bavaro Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies

I was just married at the Bavaro on Sunday 7/27/14.........

We had 44 guests everyone was booked in the Bavaro and we booked the Grand. However when we arrived they upgraded 6 couples which was ok but did cause a little drama since our parents and sibling were not upgraded and they wouldn't upgrade them.

All the hotels are beautiful. The Grand is very quiet we spent most our time at the Bavaro & The Dominican at night since the club and casino were there.

We arrived on Thursday and met with Danilsa the wedding planner for about 10 min......(she emailed me about week before with the schedule of the wedding day) we gave her a copy of our marriage certificate and the vows we wanted to use & went over flowers. (we only got flowers for me and the groom.) We then set up a time to meet on Friday to look at wedding location and meet with photographer. We also looked at restaurant and decide n how to set up tables. We had dinner at the steak house.

One thing I would recommend would be make reservation as soon as you get down there they book quick and when you go to restaurant they are usually empty. if I am being honest the food was not that good but I have been told that food in the DR is not good. They do have a lot of food choices. The restaurants are really slow but the buffet are a good choice.

I  emailed once with the resort photographer Nicolas but never set plans but when I went down I went to his shop and they were aware of the wedding and very accommodating. I loved my pictures!!! We ended up getting the cd with all 220 pictures for $800 which I thought was a good price. (let me know if anyone wants to see photos)

The morning of the wedding I went to get a massage on the beach which was great!!!!  I had a hair and makeup apt @1 I was really nervous about it but both came out great!!! I loved both.

I went over to my parents room in the Bavaro to get ready. Danlisa dropped off my bouquet which was beautiful. Everyone met in the lobby at 430 and she took them to location then came to get me and drove us down in golf cart.

She had wedding march playing as we walked down. The ceremony was great we had champagne toast right after then took pictures with everyone. We continued to take pictures and met everyone back a steak house @ 7 (my husband went to change since it was so hot out as did most of the guests.)

We had the star package so very basic but exactly what I wanted. We had appetizers that were buffet then the choice of filet mignon or salmon so you don't get to pick off entire menu they set one for you. We then cut cake and finished up desert.

We were planning on going to the club after but ended up just going down to the beach and drinking and hanging out it couldn't have been more perfect.

Overall great experience loved everything stress free! I saw two other wedding while  was down there and both looked beautiful. They are willing to do whatever you like. I wanted very basic and I loved all of it.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

We also did pirate booze cruise which was amazing and we did zip lining.

Thanks,

Kelly

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
