Our Wedding at Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Well firstly I would like to say we finally got married :D It seemed like forever but the day finally came. We got married at the GPLDH on August 6th 2013. We had a great experience everything went according to plan. We spent 7 days at this resort and all the staff was amazing besides the reception staff where as they were quite rude and abrupt. Well letâ€s get to our big day, well our wedding was quite big having 119 guest at our wedding half was from Canada and the rest were from the UK. We had two wedding ceremonies as my wife is Buddhist and myself being Christian. Both ceremonies took place on the same day one being at 10am at the Gazebo and the other at the Atrium at 4pm. We went with the Pure Paradise package for the Atrium and my wifes family decorated the Gazebo from the Buddhist as we wanted it as tradional as possible and did it look Amazing. We went with the Steel band for the cocktail our and our reception was helped at the Blue Lagoon. I would say if you want a private reception go for the Blue Lagoon, our wedding planner was Loraine Yaps and she was totally amazing throughout the whole wedding. Our wedding was very different and a total new experience for the resort as they have never experienced such a wedding before and we got told that is for sure the wedding of the century.

For our photographer all i can say is AMAZING we went with a outside photographer company called Lexon Productions and their work was out of this world, Iâ€ve been planning for this wedding for over a year and done alot of researching on alot of things specially the photographers as to us pictures mean alot more then memories as you can look back in 20 years time and think to yourself “WOW†I read reviews on the resort photographers and they did not appeal to me considering people having to wait months to get a reply or any information back from their pictures. Well our experience with Lexon Productions was phenomenal  they met up with us day before the wedding just after our rehearsal with the wedding planner and done a pre wedding photograph/video shoot for the wedding, we met two of them that day being Richard and Adrian who were totally amazing. On the wedding day they arrived as planned 7am the following morning to start the video and photoshoot for our wedding as they caught every single movement we done with my wife having 3 of them in her room taking pictures and recording her getting ready and followed by me and my groomsmen getting the same work done to us. They stayed at our wedding constantly taking pictures till 12mid night when me and my wife had to tell them to go rest as they were so into catching everything till the very end. Two days after that they met with me and my wife on the 8th August to do a photoshoot for us as my wife wanted to trash her dress in the beach, they gave us a beautiful tour around Jamaica and took pictures at so many random and beautiful places around the Island. Less than 3 days they gave us at least 50 pictures before we left printed for us to take with us and the pictures were module material I ill post a few pictures on here so you can see what I mean. All I can say is these guys are amazing and for sure would recommend them to anyone as my wifes cousin also proposed towards the end of our holiday Lexon productions came to do a engagement photoshoot for the couple which was amazing.

If anyone wants to check them out there details are www.lexonproduction.com  and they also have a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/lexonproductions

If anyone wants to know more information about the resort feel free to ask as theres way to much to explain.

Sorry as I've been inactive and honestly forgot about this post. I can't exactly remember but I went with the premium package which as you get 3 photographers and they also video the wedding. We just got our video made check it out. Adrian is a young talented photographer who has a amazing eye to capture the perfect moment even if your camera shy he makes you feel relaxed

I would definitely advise using Lexon Productions over the onsite photographers, as we met a couple who also got married on the resort and they used the local one - they said it was the worst experience ever as the photographer made them feel uncomfortable with the pictures and he pretty much just took them without putting any heart into it. I don't like to use the word perfect but to get a perfect picture taken the photographer has to have  passion for it and know how to make the couple feel comfortable.

Congrats pm you guys big day the months will fly past you. You both getting Married at GPLH? If possible I would advise bring your own bouqutes and use fake ones as you can't even tell in the pictures if they are real or fake and atleast you can keep them after without worrying about them dying.

If you need anymore questions or advise on anything feel free to ask

Thank you for the tips!! He did a wonderful job on your photos & videos!! Your wife's bouquet was beautiful. Did she also you fake flowers? We are planning to get married right on the beach... I've been thinking about going bare foot. Our wedding is at 4 pm. Do you know if the sand is extremely hot during that time if day? Sorry... Sounds like a silly question! We are going to do an at home reception so after the ceremony we plan on having dinner at one of the restaurants on site then going to one of the shows or bars afterwards. Did you guys have a favorite restaurant on site? Thank you so much!! This is very helpful.. As I feel the wedding coordinators haven't been very helpful but maybe that's just because we still are a ways away from our wedding date & they are probably busy with current weddings.

Hey,

No problem hope the tips helps :)

Yeah they are fake, my wifes aunt made them and all the bridesmaids flowers aswell. Its much cheaper and it looks even better then the real ones.

Nah thats fine, if you want the relaxed look then you can do it in bare feet. I would say that having shoes on while taking your wedding photos will give it that extra romantic lookt. At 4pm it gets alot cooler the hottest time in the day to get married is 10am. I would suggest the Gazebo as its a beautiful location. Me and my wife did not pick the beach because we wanted ourselves and the guests to also dress up like their going to a church wedding.

I would suggest the Steakhouse for a nice meal for everyone. But make sure you book your table in advance as they fill up quite fast.

Yes don't worry we had the same problem around this time last year they were taking months to reply back to our emails, but when it was two months before the wedding they replied almost instantly. Check this site out aswell as you have plenty of time to prepare, its a nice site for extra stuff for your wedding and the prices are reasonable http://www.lightinthebox.com/

Hi Aworch,

I did reply but the forum said waiting for confirmation and it still did not send my reply to you.

Thanks glad you liked our videos and pics.

Yes the flowers were fake its so much cheaper to use fake flowers as they are really for the pictures and you save so much more money plus you can give them to people as presents etc.

Beach party's are nice but I would advise you to wear shoes as for the pictures would look much better with shoes on. 4pm is a good time as the sun slowly starts to set and it gets much cooler.

I would say reserve Bubb'as steak house if thats the right name as it books up really fast and the food is really nice. Wedding coordinators are slow until like 2months before the wedding you will get instant replies as we planned ours year before and the replies were like every 2 months or something.

If you have anymore questions feel free :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
