Gran Bahia Principe - Runaway bay - DINNER AND RECEPTION ADVICE WANTED!

Recommended Posts

To any Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica brides….

Iâ€m trying to decide on my dinner/reception, but I just canâ€t seem to decide!

We will NOT be having an at home reception after the wedding (taking place Jan 22nd, 2014), so I want to make sure I get my first dance in at the resort. I have the option of renting out the Pisces restaurant for $1700, for 4 hours with a DJ. This restaurant sounds beautiful as it is on the beach, and it would allow for dinner, speeches, and Iâ€m assuming dancing after? Has anyone gone this route?

$1700 does seem pretty pricey though, so Iâ€ve also considered doing the semi-private dinner with an after dinner reception at either the gazebo or the disco. Has anyone done an after dinner reception at the disco? What was the seating/accommodations like?  I feel like this might be a good option because after the two hours are up, we could just stay there anyway and dance the night away. My concern is seating during the first dance?  Has anyone gone this route or the gazebo route?

Also, are there any suggestions on the Italian restaurant vs. the garden grill for the semi-private dinner?  Is one better than the other?

Your feedback is greatly appreciated!!!
